Windjana Gorge, one of the 2 major attractions on the tour.
Indigenous tour guide Dillon shared stories from his culture and showed me another side to the experience. The gorge was so picturesque with colours of the Kimberley.
Calm water of the gorge with fresh water crocodiles checked out the relaxing birdlife . At the same time they keept an eye on the human visitors, sometimes very close and personal. On one occasion the lack of scales on the back of one crocodile was so visible! Young tour guide Ky helped out and kept those engrosed in the sights, up to scratch.
Tunnel Creek is one of the most dramatic, sometimes soothing, unpredictable and beautiful places. Walking through the water, sometimes with the help of others, added to the overall experience. The views varied from rock art, fossils, crocodile eyes checking you out, a dark tunnel, varying in height and texture to water flowing along beside you.
But I mustn't forget the entry. Now that's somethingto look forward to!
Alex our driver, chef and tour guide ensured all were well fed and watered. His commentary was informative, but in a casual manner. His outgoing personality ensured everyone felt included in all activities. The drive in and out of the area, with an occasional stop, was most enjoyable gave me another view of this amazing land.
I'm hooked on the region!
Thanks to all.
