My husband, 1 year old daughter and I stayed at the east fork cottage this past October on our way to myrtle beach. It was a beautiful home away from home. We enjoyed the cottage and the view of the sheep and sheep dogs. The cottage even had children's toys and baby gates available so my daughter couldn't climb up the stairs. The kitchen was well prepared with spices and quality cookware which is often my biggest complaint while traveling. The homemade jam was super tasty and the entire cottage smelled like lavender. It was so relaxing sitting in the hottub under the stars. There wasn't much to do in the town of Mars hill but it is only about a half hour from Asheville so the biltmore is a close stop. If you want some peace and quiet away from a big city this is the place. Definetly will book again if I am ever in the area again
I am so happy with our stay at the EFC over the xmas holiday. Since it is only 2 hours away from our home, we will definitely make sure that this is a place we run off to for those much needed work breaks. We cannot wait to return in the Fall.
We have stayed at the East Fork Cottage with my husband and 6 year old son for 1 week. The place, the cottage, the farm and the owners were all above and beyond our expectations. My family had a blast. I do recommend this place without reservations to any family wanting to experience the mountains and the farm life. The owners are very nice and friendly people, the cottage was perfectly clean, comfortable and, as someone who has worked in the design industry for many years, I have to say it is very well designed from an architectural and interior design stand point. Lot of attention to details, cleanliness, my son loved to make the fire outside every night in the fire pit and have a bath altogether in the hot tub at the end of the day. We made memories that we will cherish forever.
What a wonderful place to stay. My daughter will be going to Mars Hill in the fall. We were coming up for orientation weekend and needed a place to stay. Fortunately we found this cabin to rent. Such a cool place! Sheep out in the pasture, very cool decorated cabin. A very laid back, beautiful weekend for our family. Close to Asheville so we could experience the fun there, but remote enough to truly get away from it all at the farm. We bought stuff at the farm store and cooked at the cabin, hung out in the hot tub, enjoyed cooking s'mores at the fire pit. A great experience...we will definitely be back!!
This is a great place to stay. There was a group of 4 guys who went skiing at Wolf Ridge and it was only 30 minutes away. This cottage has everything you need (dishes, washer/dryer, hot tub, etc.) It was nice and quiet but still close enough to everything you need - food, groceries, activities.....
I will be staying here again next time we come skiing or might bring my kids and wife and have a fun vacation.
There are lots of things to do for kids there on the farm (we didn't do any of it this time since it was 4 guys on a ski trip) but looking at what the cottage offers this will be a fun place for kids.
