Our group of 4 stayed at the cottage recently and had a wonderful time. The house was extremely clean and included everything we needed (linens, towels, coffe pot, paper towels, etc). We especially enjoyed sitting out back by the river in the evenings! The owner sent a very helpful email before our arrival with a detailed list of recommendations of places to visit. We did as many of those as we had time for and loved all of them. Definitely try the artisan pizza at Dogwood Bread Company on Friday nights if you can! We would not hesitate to recommend this house and will certainly look forward to staying again in the future. Thank you!
This review is long overdue. My wife, infant, and I stayed in the Beau Overlook Cottage in July of 2015 for several nights and had such a wonderful time. Jo met us at the cottage and helped us get acclimated to the area. She is such a warm and welcoming lady who made us feel at home instantly. The cottage is beautiful and clean as can be. Everything about the cottage is excellent, but the large patio area with ample seating overlooking the river was my favorite part. We enjoyed fires in the pit each evening and grilled out as well. The kitchen is awesome and was fully equipped for great dinners. Overall, this is one of the nicest and most relaxing places we have ever stayed. Also, the local produce, meats, beer, etc. can't be missed. We hope to be back soon!
My family was looking for a quick last minute getaway in New York State. We found the Beau Overlook Cottage online and it had everything we wanted. Within 24 hours we were at the cottage.
The cottage was built in 1877 and was conpletely updated. It was warm and inviting with a beautiful view of the Banquet River right in the backyard. We found ourselves minutes away from Lake Champlain and the Ausable Chasm. The views were magnificent for both of them. There were numerous places to eat as well as a small bowling alley only 2 minutes away. (great for Teenagers at night).
Overall the Beau Overlook Cottage is everything you want in a property rental. It had all the amenities, dishwasher, laundry machines, coffee maker, etc...., but the best is waking up in the morning and having a cup of coffee on the back patio overlooking the river. The sound of the river and the peace and quiet makes you feel like your 10,000 miles from home. Great place, see for yourself.

We spent a week at the cottage with our 2 year old daughter and our dog. We hate leaving our dog behind so it was a big bonus to be able to bring her to this beautiful cottage. It is in a good location for access to a lot of site seeing travel by car-Burlington, VT, Lake Placid, Whiteface Mountain, AuSable Chasm and good access to nice hiking trails close by where we could get in short hikes. The house was very well equipped and the bonus was the "kids stuff" including highchair, crib and toys! The grounds were fun to walk around down to the creek as my daughter loved to walk down there. The house was very clean and comfortable which made it easy and fast to settle in "like home" which was key for our little one. Owner is VERY helpful and kind and made our site seeing and eating decisions very easy. A great getaway "home away from home" for us to get away for the hustle and bustle at home!
