Description: Our kitchen makes deliciously good food, prepared simply, from the finest local ingredients. We feel very lucky to be located in the Coromandel Peninsula, home of excellent seafood. In Poivre & Sel Restaurant you will also experience authentic fine French cuisine, cooked only with fresh ingredients. If you are a wine enthusiast, you have to try our french wines from Burgundy, Champagne, Cotes du Rhone, Alsace and Bordeaux, as well as the best New Zealand wines. Our restaurant hold only a few tables so bookings are highly recommanded.

This was my second visit to Poivre & Sel when holidaying from Melbourne.
Incredible once again. The flavours are nothing less than spectacular. Presentation fabulous. This is a must visit restaurant! Oh and the French Rose we drank... sublime.

This place is absolutley amazing, you walk in, off an average looking street into a tucked away gem, you forget where you are once you step through the entrance, the outside dining area is magical and sweet smelling, with beautiful flora and fairy tale like ambience the inside is luxorius and you can tell all the decor has been carefully chosen and placed by the stunning Matradee Severine, her welcome and service is appreciated so much. Then the food... the chef Samuel, I can not describe the utter indulgence his food is, everything is to die for, I have been to this restaurant countless times and had not one bad experience, every dish I've had is my favourite, I'm blowen away each time as my taste buds are taken to another country, I've eaten all of over the world and I never leave reviews but this family run French restaurant is a must for anyone who enjoys fine food, wine and atmosphere, absolute 10 out of 10.

Highly recommend this dining experience in Whitianga. There is no other like it. The food is always exquisite and the family (French) that run it delightful.

We ate here while in Whitianga for the scallop Festival. The restaurant had a set menu for this event and we chose to purchase the matched wine with each course.

The location is central, the building full of character and the service friendly and efficient. The wines were superbly matched and interesting, and the food prepared perfectly and presented beautifully.

The meal consisted of four main courses, and several items between. Every part of the meal was enjoyed and we left satisfied and very impressed. A definite must if in Whitianga.

We enjoyed a lovely dinner for 10 people here. The food was amazing! Would definitely go again! Was a bit surprised to be asked for a deposit on our reservation- but the meal was great!
