The hosts of Bayview at 91, David & Dmitri, go to enormous lengths to ensure you enjoy your stay at Bayview & make the most of beautiful Whitianga. Bayview has a wonderful view across the bay as it’s name suggests & a large balcony/terrace from which to relax & enjoy it. A gorgeous breakfast each morning, tips & help with organizing each day’s activities should you need it, a drink & canapés early evening for guests & hosts to enjoy - just some of the thoughtful ways in which our hosts made our stay truly memorable.

David and Dimitri bring "boutique" to a new level. Their travel experience allows not only for a wonderful stay @Bayview91, but their tips for traveling and dining are also very valuable.
Have you ever been sitting at a terrace, working on a few mails before breakfast, when the owner brings you a nice cup of coffee? Or does anyone offer you, before bringing you free of charge to your dinner venue, a glass of wine and shares advice on the rest of your trip?

Room tip: No tip necessary; everything is top of the class

Dear Guy, It was a pleasure to meet you both during your stay in our Mercury Bay Suite and as we prepare our fresh fruit salad for Breakfast, of course, if we see one of our guest on the Deck, we most certainly offer them a coffee or tea, in your case I knew from the previous day what you liked so a black coffee was served. Our concept is simple, you arrive as Guests but depart as Friends, during your stay we wish you to feel at home, but to have your private space to relax when required. Our Evening Drinks are always a favourite time os ours to introduce you to your fellow guests or to hear of your day's adventures before we offer if you would like to transfer you to your chosen restaurant.

We wish you both a great time for the remainder of your time in New Zealand and that we may be able to meet again someday. Our Kindest Regards David and Dmitri

The Bayview at 91 is a first class place to stay. It is clean, well appointed, fantastic views, delicious food, everything you would want. The best part of staying is the hosts and service. They make you feel like a welcome friend and go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. We spent New Years eve there and they hosted a small party for all the guests and made dinner arrangements/taxi service if you wanted to go out.

Room tip: The Kupe suite has it's own entrance and patio.

My wife & I booked Bayview at 91 and stayed in Whitianga only because we were so enchanted by the reviews for this property. How could a place be so universally loved and admired? We simply had to book and stay and understand it ourselves. Despite the highest of unrealistic expectations we admittedly underestimated how magical and beautiful it was so stay in Bayview at 91. We loved it so much that we ended up shortening a night later on our trip and staying an extra night. Here is what makes this property a must-stay and experience of a lifetime.

THE HOSTS & SERVICE: David & Dmitri are the most attentive and caring hosts we have ever come across. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with warmth usually reserved for close friends. They must have the most professional B&B setup out there - a full catalog of activities, information about the B&B and surrounding area, photos and clear descriptions. We were floored. Later we learned that they actually run a travel booking service as well where they incorporate this into detailed arrangements including a pre-programmed GPS! David & Dmitri host an evening happy hour with wine & canapes where they show a genuine interest in getting to know you. On our first night we were so engrossed in stimulating conversation that we almost lost track of our dinner reservation! Of course they booked us a spot and even dropped us off to the restaurant where we were personally introduced to the staff. WOW! At every turn they looked after us and treated us like friends who they hadn't seen in a long time. It was authentic and special. Their recommendations for dining were spot on and for any drives in the area we received detailed printed directions with very cool extras and off the beaten path options.

THE ROOM: Our suite was beautiful - overlooking Whitianga town and waterfront. It's truly a million dollar view from their B&B which sits atop the town. The photos don't do justice to what we saw and experienced. The suite had all the high-end furnishings you would expect plus extras like Netflix to watch movies. It was a five-star resort level - from a safe for your valuables, bathrobes and slippers, tea & coffee, free cold water, pajamas, etc. We could have just stayed in the room all day given its high comforts and incredible view.

THE FOOD: Breakfasts were honestly our highlight. They make homemade breads and diligently cut fruits (on our stay they mentioned our fruit salad had 12 different fruits!). The eggs were so fresh and tasty and made any way we wanted along with coffee grinded and made from an espresso machine. The honey was so tasty and also available through an arrangement to purchase. We could go on and on. It was an epic way to start each day.

We were fortunate to be able to extend our stay to have Christmas dinner with David & Dmitri along with the other guests. It was a dinner we will never forget. David is a master chef (although shy to admit!) and it was a culinary journey through the best of New Zealand food. The wine & conversations we enjoyed that night will be long-held memories.

We're already thinking how we can return to this beautiful B&B tucked away in gorgeous Whitianga. We will need to book in advance and we recommend you do too so you aren't disappointed! Thank you again David & Dmitri - you provided the true highlight of our New Zealand trip! Love you both and so happy to call you our dear friends.

Room tip: We loved the Mercury room because of the beautiful view and it's on the same floor as the living room & kitchen.

Dear Neil, we so enjoyed meeting you both and are humbled at your very kind words about us and Bayview at 91, to be honest, we welcome our clients as friends to our home and believe that to help and assist them to have a comfortable suite to relax with the little extra, as well as fine food and interaction with other guests each evening is the perfect way to ensure our guests get the very best out of their stay with us.
