I have stayed at this motel 3 times now over several years. While far from new, the units are clean, with good linen and facilities.

They are also only 5 mins leisurely walk from Whitianga shops, restaurants and the town harbour.

If looking for good value accommodation you could do a lot worse!

We stayed for 5 nights at this motel as part of a tour of North Island, NZ.
It is ideally situated on the edge of the town within easy walking distance of the many restaurants and shops. Also near the starting points of the many boat trips which are an major attraction. The accommodation is comfortable, spotlessly clean and well maintained. There is a wealth of information provided in the rooms about local activities Most rooms have an outside sitting area overlooking a garden.
The proprietor is readily available and always willing to help . The Peninsula motel in just the kind of affordable accommodation, run with a personal touch that you hope to find.
Really recommended!

Room Tip: All equally quiet

We stayed at the Peninsula Motel for three nights. We had not prebooked and it was a busy time. Fred the manager could not have been more helpful and sorted out some things for us. Whilst an older style place, the self contained room was spacious, clean and affordable. It is also well located in town with a short walk to cafes and restaurants. Would happily recommend it and special thanks to Fred who made us feel welcome.

EZ walking to town which is full of restaurants and shops. Parking outside your front door. Very clean. Well stocked kitchen including an oven! Fred, the manager works hard to make sure all guests have a great stay. Didn't want to leave! For a tastey treat, check out the Love It Bakery across the street and down a block. Fabulous sweet treats, pies and sandwiches. Bring cash. There are at least a dozen signs cash only but some folks fail to read!

The room was more than sufficient with two rooms and a full kitchen. The best part of this place was the man who checked us in. He not only offered recommendations for things to do on our brief stay, he actually called one of the places and checked availability for us. He was also great with help when we needed a place to replace a tyre we'd punctured on our drive in.
