easy beach to get to. a little better than town beach. this is perfect if a westerly is blowing or you dont have time to get around to the west side.
You can also go beach fishing from here.

Came here on a week night with a few friends. It's a sandy bottom beach with few large rocks. It's a perfect place for a dip and watch the sun set behind you. It is especially refreshing after a long day exploring. It's located close to the lighthouse (5 mins driving time).

People come here to enter their boats on the sides of the beach to do some fishing. There is plenty of space on the beach to relax and not worry about the boats and people.

There is a toilet, shower and fish station (to clean your catch) on this beach.

The Bundegi area is also regarded as a marine park, so we were curious to explore the area. One way to get to the reef is from a dirt track that continues from the end of Yardie Creek Rd; it's a bit rough in places, but eventually we made it to the beach. It was about an hour before sunset and we had the entire place to ourselves. It was low tide, and we could walk onto the reef a long way out.

The Beach area requires you to drive further down the paved road, and this is where most people go. We had a brief stop, to check out the many people fishing on the jetty. But space was limited, and the beach itself didn't look that appetising on a windy day, so we decided not to stay. It didn't look that spectacular, but it's nice to have another option besides Town Beach, especially because this is a little out of town. The beaches south of here are nearly all nicer, however, especially the surfing beach and the beaches closer to the national park.
