A fantastic visit!! Easy direct flight from Boston on JetBlue. Getting into the country was a snap; getting out is a bit more problematic. It is recommended that you arrive at the airport 3hrs early on day of departure and it’s true; you need the time.
We opted to stay at an apartment (Mi Cadushi) in the Palm Beach (Noord) neighborhood rather than a resort we you get a better feel for being in the country. Our host, Manfred was great. He took us to and from the airport, took us to a couple of restaurants, and even made reservations for us; in some places it’s a must. Best food we had was at Annamarie’s and Flying Bonefish where you can eat with you feet in the water. Plenty of other restaurants where you can be seated as a walk-in. The apartment was an easy walk to the beach which is public and where you can mix with others staying at the big resorts. Plenty of water activities available. We favor Delphi Watersports for sailing, snorkeling, parasailing and for beach umbrellas when the sun gets too hot (see Olga if you have any questions).
It was incredibly relaxing, with wonderful accommodations and great weather. We would go back in a heart beat!!
This location was ideal for walking or riding to Palm beach or Eagle beach. You will be close to the center of everything that you can possible need. Hotels, casinos, shopping, restaurants are within a 5-10 minute walk from the house.
The owners Manfred and Maria were awesome. They met us at the airport and took us to the airport. They were gracious enough to take us wherever and wherever we wanted to go.
The apartment had all the necessities that you would need for a home away from home apartment. The rooms were all air conditioned or you could choose to use the overhead fans. The kitchen was well equipped with refrigerator, stove, blender, toaster, coffee maker, dishes, utensils, pots and pans.
There is a jacuzzi in the backyard as well as a BBQ grill. You can just sit back relax and feel at home,
There were also bicycles that were there for our use and we used them daily...we were able to explore the entire area of Noord via bicycle or on foot.
This home is great for families or maybe 2 couples. It was great for us, as it was myself and my cousin in law, so we each had our own private bedroom.
This home is located in a family neighborhood, it is quiet and I enjoyed hearing the cock crow (although some days he crowed too much...if you are a light sleeper...use earplugs). Warning, there are a lot of dogs in the neighborhood and it seems throughout the country. Although some had collards and seem to belong to have owners, they seem to walk out their yards freely, there are also a lot of stray dogs.
I would happily recommend this home to anyone coming to Aruba. I will definitely be back if just to see Manfred and Maria. They made our experience even more memorable and special.
Thank you Maria and Manfred. " Maria don't forget to practice your English"
We have been on many places in the world but never been treated so good by the people whom we rented our aparment by. Manfred and Maria is the best. They picked us up at the airport, help us to shop in the supermarket, brought us to the islands attractations and took us out for party some evenings. The house was also wonderful. It had everything.
