We spent two weeks in Feb./17 in this great little apartment which is suitable for two adults. There is private parking, joint access (only two apartments) to a private walled garden and pool which almost means you don't need to see the rest of Aruba! If you like to read and relax by a pool, this is the spot! You do need to rent a car as the apt. isn't within walking distance of beaches and island sights. Aruba has some of the best white coral sandy beaches anywhere. Some are busy with luxury hotels side by side, but beach access is public everywhere and there are more secluded beaches which are within easy reach with your rental car. Great restaurants abound and fresh seafood is spectacular. We had a wonderful, relaxing holiday.
Your host, Maria is super helpful too!
A lovely stay with a wonderful host, we felt comfortable and at home from the start - especially when Maria drove us to buy bits from the supermarket as soon as we'd arrived. A really gorgeous week, I fully recommend it.
My wife and I have just returned from a 2 week stay at Maria's apartment. We do alot of travelling and one question we always ask ourselves after staying somewhere is, would we go back?. The answer here is definetly yes. This property consists of a large 3 bedroom home which is very nice and and would be great for larger groups. Our one bedroom apartment was attached to the house with a seperate entrance and privacy is not an issue. There is a shared backyard which is quite large and tastefully decorated. In the backyard is a small but very clean pool which adds to the oasis which is the backyard. Our apartment was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The kitchen is basic but should have everything you need. The wifi and television both worked well. The real plus of this unit for us was the location. You will need a car but that is standard for Aruba if you want to see the island. It is a ten minute drive to beautiful Eagle beach and the low and high rise hotel districts. There are also 2 major grocery stores near by. The bottom line is that the value for your dollar is there and the rates we consider to be very fair especially by Aruban standards. The property is located in the suburbs but it is in a safe area and my wife and I plan on going back. We really enjoyed it.

My wife and I stayed here for a week and found it very comfortable and quiet. The unit is small but we didn't need much room. The kitchen was handy with a dining table and 4 chairs. The bathroom was very nice but there is no hot water heater. I was told hot water heaters are scarce on the island except in the hotels. We got used to it and it wasn't bad. The unit is attached to a very nice home with a new pool and awesome back yard. The owner, Maria, is very sweet and helpful. The property has good parking and the home is gated and surround by walls. Very private. Unit is minutes to beach and lighthouse. I highly recommend this rental.
This was a very nice rental in a residential area. The owner provided us with the address to get to the unit, but that was not enough detail (we stopped twice to get directions). First things first, to get there you travel up through downtown Orangestad toward California Lighthouse. Turn right near the high rise hotels where there is a Wendy's and McDonalds. Continue past Route 2, then turn left across from 32 Kudawecha. There is an electrical pole with a transformer on top that is leaning to the left here (on the left side of the road). If you get to the baseball field/school, or the sharp turn to the right, you missed it. After your left turn, take an immediate right and the house is the second on the right. There are faster ways to get here from the airport, but these are the easiest directions. Please note, Google maps this address to the south instead of to the north. If you use Google, you will end up at the school. Also, there are almost no street signs in Aruba and the house numbers are by area (not by street) and are somewhat random.
The owner was very nice and accommodating. We were even escorted to the grocery store on our first day. The outdoor area by the pool is the best and I spent much of my time at the apartment in a hammock. The inside of the apartment is nicely finished, although not luxurious. You won't find granite counters or top end appliances, but it was adequate for the four of us (we didn't spend much time in the apartment anyway). The stove was a little suspect, but did the job for when we needed it. If you plan to do a lot of cooking, this kitchen is probably not for you.
We loved staying in the residential area and would do it again. Note that this unit is not handicap accessible (there is a step up into the unit and the bathroom is not wheelchair accessible). This unit shares the pool area with another rental owned by the same owner, but we hardly even knew the other family was here. A car is a must here and the drive is about 10-15 minutes to get downtown/airport. This is an apartment, so towels (including beach towels), sheets and minimal cookware is provided, but that is about it. It is not fancy. It is very quiet here, and as I sit here by the pool, I hear the wind chimes, the wind, and some faint traffic. If you want to experience Aruba, this is an excellent place to do it.
