Very good. Cool main dining room. High ceilings and unique appearance. Pretty active bar scene. Menu consistent of good steak house.
Rare 650 is a fancy and very popular restaurant near New York City. The lounge is so charming with glorious lighting. The Bar is huge and fully packed when we came in. The restaurant is modern and decorated very well. The Layout of tables are quite spacious to make you more comfortable to enjoy your meals. We started with a famous sandwich and a Sushi roll plus some drinks. We then ordered the Surf and Turf to have two lobsters with a two pound T bone steak. The steak tasted so juicy, smelled good and cooked just right. No wonder my friend wanted us to come to try the steak. We then order some desserts to end the great Surf and turf feast
We went on a Tuesday evening which had a $59.50 special each for couples. Food was incredibly delicious. It was a first class restaurant with outstanding service and beautiful atmosphere. The waitress suggested some items on the menu. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Had a perfect nite with a last minute reservation at volpe, a sister Anthony Scotto restaurant, Have eaten at rare650 several times before, as recently as last month, and enjoyed the food and service, even tho it can be a bit of a northshore scene, . Had a reservation for months at rare650, where I spent a half hour walking through the restaurant and finalizing my choice for table 72 for my son's surprise engagement dinner for 12. When I confirmed the ' day of' I was literally called a 'liar' by their manager , Paul, who said I could not have been promised a particular table. I was beyond insulted and upset and my husband cancelled our long planned party at Rare650 solely because of their arrogant manager Paul. I had previously heard about Volpe and had met their manager, Moises, who turned out to be super professional and so we switched this other Scotto restaurant . by the end of our party , he helped us forget the awful way I was spoken to by Paul. The point is that although both places have great food and wait staff I have never been spoken to like this Paul person spoke to me , telling me that he is the highest person in the chain that I could deal with and literally laughing at me when I gave him details of my conversation with the woman I booked with in person months earlier. Neither I nor my friends will ever go back to rare650. But volpe, that's another story.; one with a happy ending
