First, let me say that the front desk staff is amazing! I dealt with 4 different people and they were all great. The hotel ... not so much. I won’t talk about problems related to the renovation. Understandable. However, the bed was a double, but had a king size sheet; there was a guy in the hallway vacuuming at 10:15 pm ( he said he said he always vacuums between 9&10); the coffee maker didn’t work; there was no fridge in the room.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. We want to extend a sincere apology for the issues experience during your stay and failing to provide a better overall experience. We will speak to our maintenance and housekeeping staff about the issues related to ensure other guest do not have the same problems. We hope you would give us another chance to prove we can provide better accommodations. Just a tip ! We do provide refrigerators and microwaves free of charge, upon request we can have placed prior to your arrival and after renovations each room will have a fridge!

I stayed here for one night last year. Staff was nice and helpful but that is probably the only good thing about this hotel. Free parking is nice and the free breakfast was the highlight of my visit. Security person was on site making sure nothing untoward happens.
I initially was given a room near a noisy area but staff promptly changed it to another room where table lamp had no bulb and other one didn't work either. Other things in the room were also falling apart. Didn't bother me much as I came late and left early in the morning. All I needed was a place to crash for the night. If that's all you need then it is good enough.

In regards to the room issues we have been using preventative maintenance to ensure other guest do not experience such problems and non working lamps. We also are going through a renovation, so the rooms and public areas will be all brand new! We hope to see you after the remodel so we can provide not only that same great service and breakfast, but also a great product as well!

I stayed only one night during our visit to New York. The room was very clean and comfortable with all basic amenities in the room. The morning buffet breakfast was nice and convenient. The staff was polite and we did get to park our car outside the hotel.

I always stay at IHG properties, this one was disappointing. Let me assure you, the room was clean & fairly comfortable, albeit small & had no minifridge. What I found most disturbing, was the fact that just about every housekeeping & breakfast bar staff I observed had earbuds in their ears, & were quite obviously engaged in personal phone conversations while working! They were not engaged with customers in any way. The breakfast Bar had empty trays where 3 different meat options should have been. The eggs were sadly overcooked. There was no choice of fruit. I do not recommend this property! Staff definitely need retraining....

We recently came to the hotel and planned on staying for one week to babysit for our grandchildren. Then we heard about the hurricane Irma and we ended up staying two more weeks, totaling three weeks! The Service could not have been nicer! And Carissa, front desk manager, Stephanie, and Joe bent over backwards on our behalf. Also, the breakfast buffet staff, were incredibly patient with the overflow of people and doing the breakfast buffet. During one of our 3 weeks stay, there was a soccer team from Wisconsin, perfect gentleman, but a lot of them and staff member, Nadine, servicing the breakfast buffet, was constantly cool, calm, and collected as she assisted everyone with a smile, making sure there was plenty of food for all hotel guests. The housekeeping staff was wonderful, as well, always making sure our room was serviced and towels and amenities were plentiful. We always stay at this property when we come to Staten Island, which is very often as our family is there. It's right off the main parkway with close access to Newark Airport, NJ, the SI Mall, Colleges, Restaurants and so much more. They also offer free shutttle service to the Staten Island Ferry which takes you to NYC, round trip. But I must say that Carissa and Stephanie are 2 very bright and anxious-to-please ladies who make the Holiday Inn Express the friendliest property with THE BEST Customer Service that we've ever stayed at. They know what you want before you ask and make sure your request is immediately taken care of. Thanks, everyone at the SI HIE. See you soon!!!
