Visited Saratoga Springs for a family event. Inn at Saratoga is centrally located and easy to locate. Parking adjacent and in rear. Hotel is old, but has been refurbished and common areas have antique charm. Rooms are tired and suites in rear are in separate building. Prices are ok. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Stayed in Cottage D - best way to describe the building is neglected. Room was clean - but furnishings old and dingy, flaking paint/peeling wallpaper. Service friendly but minimalistic. 3 keys, but no instructions of how to use which keys when (one to get in building, one to get in room, one to open porch, I eventually figured out). No temperature control in room.
I love the ambiance and stay here often. however, I am never greeted as a frequently returning guest.
Checked in today to a completely empty hotel after the holiday and was promptly given a room on the first floor overlooking the parking lot. When I requested to be moved, moved to the third-floor, still a substandard room compared to the ones that I have stayed in before. I find the front desk staff to be particularly unwelcoming
We stayed in one of the cottages …the photos on the internet looked so inviting and wonderful….. the reality was so different …the cottage we stayed in was early recycling center…the furniture was very old ,abused, chipped, headboard was attached to the wall with visible angle irons….there was a hole in the wall behind the bed pillow. The only redeeming factor was the bathroom was very large. The walkway to enter our cottage was uneven and difficult to negotiate, which did cause me to fall. Other members of our party stayed in the Inn and their rooms were quite nice. I would recommend staying in the Inn itself and forget the cottages. The manager did agree to some compensation,due to our dissatisfaction with the accommodations.
Clean room, really comfortable bed and pillows, slept well and I love the history and decor and old photos framing the halls. It’s a really nice historic property with on site parking which is a huge bonus and walking distance to many things, including downtown. Price was reasonable too. I’d stay here again.
