Great hotel-lumpy bed!

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 3 Jul 2024
Perfect location-beautiful hotel with lots of character. Loved our bedroom, but the bed was very lumpy , making for an uncomfortable sleep. Only chair was the desk chair which is also uncomfortable to read your book. The bathroom is the prize! Stunning design and lots of room-a spa like space.

A wonderful experience and gorgeous hotel room sand all. Staff pleasant and helpful. Would stay again. Great location to everything in town walking distance with ease.
And what about those fab le toilets. The bathrooms are beautiful and enjoyed a lovely soak in the tub.

Room tip: I wish I had more time to enjoy a meal at the high-end restaurant.

Amazing!! Aiden at the front desk was so helpful with dinner reservations and anything we needed! The room was so clean and beautiful..the bed was heavenly and even though we had rain the whole time we loved the hotel so much we didn’t care! I can’t wait to come back!

The hotel is in the middle of construction. We had two rooms in the newly built wing. Where should I start? After spending $1600 for one night, you would expect luxury accommodations and service. Unfortunately both were seriously lacking. One of the rooms was windowless, had paint smell from nearby construction, and had no working fans or air conditioning, which could not be fixed. Of course none of this was disclosed when this room was sold at 550 per night rate. The front desk staff was not capable of dealing with any of the issues, and also didn’t seem to care. They refused to allow us to speak to the manager after multiple requests. We still haven’t been able to reach one. Customer service is nonexistent. They should not be allowed to operate under construction in such unsafe conditions.

Room tip: Stay away. Much better hotels in town at half the price.

Thank you for taking the time to review The Adelphi Hotel. We value your feedback and truly apologize that your overall stay did not meet your expectations. I am sorry your interaction with the Front Desk was not to your satisfaction and that there was some miscommunication. I will speak to the team as to why you were unaware that you were speaking to a Front Desk Manager and make sure moving forward that they introduce themselves properly.

This luxury hotel has been beautifully restored. If you’re interested in preservation and architecture, you’ll appreciate the details here, from the tile work to the grand staircase. The suite was comfortable and tasteful although narrow. It felt a bit tight. Unfortunately our view was of a wall of windows. For the price we paid, I expected more of a concierge experience. They were out of the in room Nespresso coffee they promote and the maker they have doesn’t make hot water for tea. The folks at the front doors didn’t regularly open them and we were infrequently greeted when we entered the lobby including by those at the front desk. It also felt weird since the folks at the front desk sit behind computers at actual desks so it feels like you’re interrupting them from work. Morrisey’s bar was hopping and served delicious cocktails. Next time I would probably stay somewhere else and just head to their bar.

Room tip: There is really no where to drop off bags in the front and a very small parking lot is a two block walk away. It is dog friendly though.
