we enjoyed our stay very much. the staff couldn't have been nicer, the room was very comfortable, the hotel was very inviting. minor cosmetic touchups would make the hotel even more pleasant. great find recommended by family.

I left the same review on Yelp about 2-3 weeks ago. 99% chance I will never stay at this hotel again. I went to look at the hotel with my fiance early in the year and the rooms seemed nice, clean, they mentioned there was an after hours space available and they would give us a group rate for a wedding block - so we booked them. Almost everything after that went downhill. The renovations that were supposed to be completed in May were still going on in October - you couldn't even walk through the front door, you had to go in through a service entrance on the side. We were emailed an information sheet to be filled out asking what time we would be arriving, etc. I put down that the bride, groom and families would be arriving at 12:00, 3:30 my room still was not ready. Our guests had to ask for refrigerators for their rooms - isn't that pretty standard that a hotel room would come with a mini fridge? The best man in the wedding checked into his room and when he opened the door, another persons belongings were in there. We found out they were over booked by 11 rooms (someone from the hotel told one of our guests that when they called to cancel a room. They were relieved that it was one less person overbooked.) We were told when we first booked the hotel block that we could rent out an after hours space for after our wedding but when new management came in they said they were no longer renting out space. I was given prices and menus prior to the change of management and was going to pull every room we had booked to go elsewhere. We had about 10 rooms for Friday night and 20 for Saturday night. They eventually agreed to give us an after hours space downstairs. We paid for the space, bartender and put money down for our guests. After our wedding on our way back to the hotel, we were getting text messages from our guests saying they were being charged for drinks. There is absolutely no communication between staff. They had to cancel transactions and give people back their money - some already paid and it was too late. I gave the front desk hotel welcome bags for our guests and was told a note would be put in the computer so they knew which bag to hand out. I saw people not in my hotel block with them and some people from my hotel block had other welcome bags from a different party. The bags contained shuttle information and I was furious when someone showed up at my wedding because guess what - they got the wrong welcome bag and got on the wrong shuttle! They have a few staff that are very nice and try to help but overall there is no communication and they have very inexperienced people working there. Save yourself the time and money and go to the Hampton Garden Inn or Hyatt 15 minutes away.

My husband and I enjoyed a very pleasant 3 night stay at the Roslyn Hotel. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Although the hotel is undergoing renovations this did not affect our stay.We enjoyed really delicious dinners in the very cozy restaurant downstairs and which is adjacent to a newly opened supper club and which seemed to attract quite a crowd! The staff was polite and helpful....I would return and recommend this hotel especially once renovations are completed..this hotel will be a hotel of choice on Long Island!

Room tip: Our room was on 3rd floor, quiet...

Treat yourself and spend the weekend at this tastefully decorated hotel. The food here is hands down the best I have ever tasted, and I highly recommend the italian burrata, beef kimchi raclette and hen of the wood (see the photos below). The complimentary breakfast is not your run of the mill green bananas and rubbery eggs either; it is fresh and delectable; I can not wait for tomorrow morning.
