This log home is situated among the pine trees high on the hillside above the eastern shore of Keuka Lake. Our visit was part of a birthday present to my wife, and she loved it ! We found our stay to surpass our dream of what a bed-and-breakfast experience in the Finger Lakes region might be like. The homeowners’ sincere hospitality and thoughtful preparation for their guests, and the time and effort they expend in getting to know you and to understand and address your needs is remarkable. We found a warmth and friendliness here unlike any that might be found at a motel or hotel. The large, open Great Room with its comfortable sofa overlooking the hillside of Lake Keuka immediately beckons you. The three guest rooms are absolutely clean, comfortable, carefully furnished, and in good condition. The couple’s hard work of designing and constructing their home is quite evident, and the “moose” theme is tastefully loosed throughout the rooms. The homeowners’ generosity in preparing an extensive breakfast and late-day snacks will soon have you wondering if you are not a family member visiting the home of your favorite relative. And, the watchful eye of their faithful Alaskan husky/Lab who greets you in the driveway (—his bark serves as a doorbell—) will warm your heart. If you love the outdoors, the comfort and privacy of a quiet stay away from the traffic and tedium of the main drag, but with the convenience of a short drive to local wineries and attractions in the Lakes region, then you will truly enjoy this home. Be prepared, for you may not want to leave. We so hope that we can return for another stay.

Room tip: Any room will delight you if you appreciate a comfortable stay with gracious, caring hosts and leave any pretension or haughtiness at home.

Jennine and Dennis are warm and friendly inn keepers. Their B and B is a large attractive log home. Very comfortable room and bed and then a shared big living room (with wood stove) to hang out and read or chat. If that weren’t enough, the homemade breakfast each morning was incredible. In addition, she even served us cheese and crackers, etc. late afternoon—not sure they always do that. In the evening, there were brownies and ice cream or homemade cookies. I felt pampered.

We could not stop raving about our experience to friends and family when we returned home from the Loose Moose Lodge. We could not be happier with our stay; it was an absolutely wonderful experience!

We decided to do a weekend getaway to the Finger Lakes to explore the numerous wineries. As soon as we arrived at the Loose Moose Lodge we felt right at home. We were welcomed warmly, first by their ecstatic pup Scout, and Dennis following after. The house was a cozy log cabin tucked away in the woods, it was so serene and quiet being there. It was beautifully decorated and reminded me of my grandparents lake house which I absolutely adored.

Dennis showed us right to our room which was very clean and spacious. Each guest room was equipped with its own heater so we had the luxury of controlling our room’s temperature. Moreover, the bed was beyond comfortable, we slept so well! The room was very cozy and had everything we needed for our weekend stay.

Both mornings we stayed, Jennine and Dennis prepared a made to order breakfast. They asked us each evening what we would like for breakfast and what time we would prefer to eat. The first morning we told them to surprise us and for sure they did! We would have never found a breakfast this delicious, amazing, and filling at any restaurant. More than the food, we loved the company of Jennine and Dennis during breakfast. Each morning we got to eat breakfast with the skilled cooks and shared experiences. They are the easiest people to get to know, and have so many stories to tell!

We had the most relaxing, enjoyable weekend getaway at the Loose Moose Lodge and could not thank Jennine and Dennis enough for making it so wonderful! We highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a relaxing, cozy cabin getaway with amazing breakfasts and amazing people! The house is conveniently situated near Keuka Lake and also a short drive away from Seneca Lake, making it easy for anyone to explore wineries and restaurants on both of the lakes. Trust us, you won’t be disappointed!

We spent just one night on the way to Toronto but wished it was longer. This was mainly due to the friendly owners and lovely dog Scout. The house is beautiful and made entirely of wood which in itself is an attraction worth the drive. The house is very isolated and quiet, down a long path. If you shudder at isolation, not the place for you but if you want quiet solitude, this is a great place. The breakfast was also very nice.

Thank you for the wonderful review! We’re so happy you stopped to visit on your way to Canada! Thanks for pointing out our quiet location! It is really wonderful having our house nestled on our 6 acres without a view of our neighbors, but having the bonus of being so close to the wineries! Please stop by again if you are ever in the area!
