Friendly, helpful, hard working owners. Rooms were very clean, well looked after motel. Bed/mattresses were fine. Pool was clean with good deck chairs. Gas station across the road with pizza, beer and related items. Stayed for two nights. A solid basic motel and will return when in the area.
This is a typical Adirondack motel that appeals to leaf peepers and snow boarders.
It is on Rte 28. and easily accessible. The management is great, and the have a winter blog with accurate forecasts. No food but Old Forge has many options including Doughs and Deers and others.
We returned to Christys, for Old Forge's "Christmas in the ADKS", spending three cozy nights at this motel. Rooms are basic, but very clean and well taken care of. A problem with our tub was quickly repaired. Bed was comfy, and we watched others partake in an evening fire in the common lawn area on each evening. We will always return here for our Old Forge vacation headquarters, and recommend it highly.
We stayed here on the way to our campsite in Long Lake and, after driving for two days from Chicago, Christy's was a welcome oasis. It is reminiscent of the great motels and inns of the '50s in the Adirondacks.. Reasonable rates, clean rooms and friendly staff. We felt as if we were staying with family. They even lent us a hair dryer! I would strongly recommend to anyone planning a trip to Old Forge (or beyond) that they plan a stay at this quintessential Adirondack motel
I would tell tell my friends christy's motel is an excellent place to stay. Room was very clean. Staff cleaned our room every day. Walking distance to town. Plenty of restaurants to eat at in walking distance.
