We stayed in room 17 on the ground floor, rented to us as a triple having a double bed, a single and a removable bed.
There are many of the trappings of a modern hotel, daily cleaning, shampoo and soaps in the bathroom, quiet split system reverse cycle aircon, electricity controlled by placing the door key iin a wall slot, and a bar fridge in the room. (although not pre-filled as a mini-bar)
Not so standard is the sticking door that takes a good lift to get into a position to lock, the frosted panel of glass which is the door to the "semi-private" bathroom, the small size of the bathroom and poor drainage, and the non-operation of at least two of the bedside lights.
Being February the pools weren't functioning, but we enjoyed our time in Santorini a lot and being at Golden Star was definitely part of that enjoyment. The staff were helpful, such as lending us some spoons to eat food which we brought in at one stage, and being very relaxed about letting us into our room early and facilitating an early morning departure.
We had a hire car so the spacious car park was appreciated too. Maybe not so spacious in high season, and the connection to the road is a bit tricky but it did the job for us without any problems. It is an easy place to drive to anywhere in the island also, being on a road which bypasses the narrower streets of Fira.
But overall it provided good value for the money that we paid for it, and we liked the location, being a short walk from the action of Fira, but with a peaceful view of the sea on the other side of the island from the caldera.

Room Tip: ground floor has best access to pool, upper floors have balconies

This hotel had a very nice pool, helpful staff and was centrally located.

It was pretty basic. The rooms were quite small. There was a very basic breakfast available. We had it once when we went on a trip. The worst part was the bathroom. The shower was soooo small you could hardly bend to wash your legs and the bathroom also smelt.

It was a bit like a hostel really and while the staff were very helpful I would not go back. Bear in mind though that Santorini is very expensive! Nice sunset. Shame about the rip off prices.

i had a room by the pool which was lovely. each room has its own outdoor area. the room itself was tidy and had all the essentials, was really dated though. in room air conditioning was great. i was right below the reception and breakfast area so sleeping in was a tad difficult. location was great and the staff were really friendly and helpful.
