“Not-so-good experience but got compensated”
Reviewed 22 June 2017 for a stay in June 2017

Our family of 2 adults and 3 children stayed in Villa Maestro for 3 nights. On the second day when we returned to the villa from our day out, the villa did not have electricity and hot water. We called the host and they tried to arrange for workers to fix the problem without success. That night, our family members all went to bed without shower and the kids were scared to go to the toilet because of the darkness. The next day, the electricity came back after the electrician worked on it. However, that night the electricity stopped working again. The electrician worked on it again until midnight. They found a damaged external lighting caused a short circuit to our entire villa. After negotiations with Antoine, we were compensated EUR250. The compensation was satisfactory and made us not as upset. However, our experience was made less than perfect nevertheless. Also, the Wifi doesn't work.

Dear Mrs Jasmine,
Thank you for your review, and sorry for this disturbing experience.
Note that the wifi works perfectly till the middle of the house, since after that point it is in the ground, so no signal can reach.
Kind regards
Antonis Gavalas

“Blissful Santorini Retreat”
Reviewed 3 March 2017 for a stay in August 2016

We traveled here in August of 2016 and really enjoyed our stay. We stayed in the Estia Suite and it was just as photographed. Eri was very helpful during our stay - she took time checking us in and giving us information about the residence and the area. She booked a boat tour for us and dinner reservations as well. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. It is not located in the center of Oia, which we preferred as there are so many tourists especially in August. It is a short walk to the center (10min) and there are two great restaurants in the neighborhood of the residence which were our favorite meals while we were there - Krinaki & Meze Meze. We also walked down to the beach from the residence and stopped at the vineyard on the way (Domaine Sigalas). This was a tougher walk as it is steep going down and back up (~25 min) and in the August heat it was tiring but we didn't want to rent a car and it wasn't really necessary unless you want to go to the other side of the island, which we never did as there was so much to do near us. We stayed for 4 nights and I would definitely go back.

“Lovely, spacious, cool and comfortable”

This is a lovely home away from home – very nicely decorated with tasteful touches throughout. The main lounge/dining area leads up a couple of steps into the large queen sized bedroom, and down some winding steps there is another bedroom with a double bed. Whilst neither of the sleeping rooms offers a closing door there is ample privacy. The divan seating in the lounge would comfortably accommodate another two guests.

There are two bathrooms each with spacious shower, toilet and basin and excellent water pressure.

The kitchen is small but well equipped, with a small fridge and a two burner cooker and microwave oven. There are three eating areas – a small corner table in the kitchen, a dining table in the lounge and a lovely outside table with sun umbrella. The terrace is a shared space with two other apartments, but we never saw our fellow guests.

The daily breakfast basket is top quality with something to suit all tastes – cheese, olives, fresh fruits, cherry tomatoes, bread rolls, butter, eggs and jams – all organic.

Fava Eco Residences are accessed by a winding footpath (with quite a number of steps) from the public parking area – the walk takes about five minutes. We were assisted with our luggage both coming and going which was greatly appreciated. From the Finikia village parking area there is a flat and easy walk of about 15 minutes to the much more touristy and expensive town of Oia, which we loved to visit. However we would recommend Finikia for its more authentic and local atmosphere – as well as its peace and quiet.

“absolutely stunning apartment, very nice service”
Reviewed 21 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

What a find! It's like living in a cave, but a luxurious cave! Stunning, modern, yet very cosy. In the morning we were provided with breakfast in a basket - everything you need. Coffee for the coffee maker, milk, bread rolls, eggs, a great cheese, fruit.

We were picked up by the landlady and a helper at the parking lot. Then it was quite a hike through this enchanting village on the hillside. No chance for a car or even a motorbike to get to the place. But that's the charm of it. All the while a short walk into the town of Oia...
