Came here for honeymoon. View of the water from the patio was awesome, but there are a million other places with incredible views that won't charge you $750/night and will provide much better service. We arrived back at our hotel on one of our 4 nights there to discover our electricity was out. No hot water to shower. No lights. No a/c. staff was incredibly rude when we called to find out what was going on, and they blamed the government for the power shutoff and said it happens several times a month and theres nothing they can do about it.
There were tons of gross flies in the bathroom and shower-- i must have smashed 50+ of them against the wall and their guts splattered on the walls, which weren't once cleaned during our stay -- not that it mattered, because more flies were back the next day. The staff was rude to us while we were there, and even ruder to us after we left as the owner promised us a partial refund for our sub-optimal stay, but never came through on his promise after months and months of repeated attempts. For close to $1,000 a night, you can undoubtedly find a better place to stay than the Hyperion. but the view was great and the bed was comfortable if that's all you're looking for.More
