Clean rooms and great views!

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 16 Jul 2024via mobile
We booked our 2 bedroom suite through airbnb. This hotel is close to restaurants and souvenir shops. Our suite was large, clean, and had great views of the city & falls! They have a secure gated parking lot across the street. Would recommend to anyone staying in Niagara!

Check in was easy
Free parking is a great plus
Room was nice
Bed was comfy!
Our toilet wouldn’t even flush 1 piece of toilet paper.
I called to ask them to send someone to help. The lady who answered clearly didn’t want to help. I could hear the hesitation in her voice. When we went downstairs gorge evening she was sitting talking to a coworker … lazy!
I called back later when we returned, and a man answered… he came up himself and helped us.
The bar service needs work. We went down for a drink. Waited 10 minutes for anyone to show up and give us a menu. Bartender then left again for at least 15 minutes before coming back. We had already decided at that point to leave. It seemed she was leaving to talk to coworkers in the breakfast area. This seems to be a problem here. Too much sitting around for the employees.
The lady who prepares breakfast was kind and works hard. And the men who helped at the front desk were also kind and helpful. Anyone else.. not so much.
I read a review that the hotel is In a bad neighborhood. That simply isn’t true. it’s right in the thick of everything. Very easy to walk to the park and close to all the restaurants. The location is WONDERFUL…
Hotel itself has many good qualities. But the customer service is VERY lacking …if that could be fixed we would stay here again. Not sure if we want to take that risk, however.

We had a great time at the Giacomo Hotel! It was substantially cheaper than big chain luxury hotels in the area while having a lot more personality-- there was no confusing this hotel for anywhere else. We were able to watch fireworks over Niagara Falls from the Skyview Lounge on the top floor, and the complimentary breakfast in the morning provided much-needed nourishment after a long day of hiking. It was a super easy walk down to the waterfront, with piles of places to eat nearby and staff ready to help. My one regret is that we missed going to the iconic lounge and bar, since it wasn't open very late. Truly a great place to stay!

Families think twice: I was traveling with my family to Niagara Falls this June.

The good: Breakfast was decent, the atmosphere was eclectic (in a good way), the location was close to the falls, parking is gated, suite room size was ample.

The bad: Found a used condom wrapper near the couch. When this was mentioned to the manager (and the fact that I was so embarrassed for my kids sake) she said she mentioned the cleaning staff didn't do a good job and that she was sorry but there was no further mention of reimbursement or making any other amends to make the experience better. Makes me wonder what else didn't get cleaned properly that we used during our stay :( Needless to say, I would not stay there again.

The staff were absolutely wonderful-everyone we encountered were extremely helpful, kind and friendly. Our room was clean and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was delicious. You can view the fireworks from the top floor. Very close to the Niagara State Park and the casino. The bar had wonderful comfy chairs perfect for a night cap. Again, the employees were exceptional.
Very clean hotel!

The hotel itself was very nice However arrived there on Sunday June 16th around 4:15. I have to say there was a man at front desk who was extremely nasty. He does not belong in customer service. He did not want to be there and his actions proved it. He was extremely rude to this couple screaming at them the room was not cleaned yet and they had to wait. He proceeded to call someone on the phone and was saying oh they are being impatient and nasty. This was not the case. The hotel worker was acting extremely ghetto.
The room I stayed in was nice. However they need to focus on the bathroom tiles. There was mold in the grout.
The staff in the restaurant was remarkable. Very outgoing and helpful. The hotel itself was beautiful but the block its on was a little trashy. Hotel across the street was boarded up and the hotel behind us was a little ghetto.
The area itself needs to be renovated. But a block away its very nice.
I would stay here again only because the hotel is beautiful.
I would fire most of the front desk help and get people who are more friendly and not nasty.
