Booked this hotel because I am very familiar, Platinum status, with the Marriott Courtyard brand and this one is one of the worst I have seen. I booked 2 rooms since I have 2 small children and my wife with me for a trip around New York State. When we checked in we were told we might not be able to accommodate adjoining rooms. This is a problem with all Marriott properties not being able to reserve adjoining rooms. The front desk person was able to find 2 adjoining rooms, a king & 2 queens. We get to the rooms and upon walking into the king room there is an overwhelming smell of cleaner like they are trying to mask some odor. My wife goes to use the toilet and she soon finds out that the toilet does not flush. We called down to the front desk and were told there is no one around to fix it and that if we wanted to change rooms we would have to take separate rooms. The shower curtain has what appears to be blood stains on it and the door to the cabinet hiding the refrigerator will not stay shut, I’ve ran into it 3 times already. Lastly I know that it is trivial but I tried to connect to the internet and was told “ yeah we’ve been having problems with that, sorry.”
Listen I understand that this is not the Waldorf, but these are simple things that can be easily fixed to make for a better stay.
