Wonderful place here for a sunny afternoon, including a killer view of the Saratoga Lake and the surrounding mountains. The outdoor environment is very special, and the service is very good. We wish we had a place like this back home!

We come here often and really enjoy the food and atmosphere, which is why I am giving this restaraunt three stars instead of one. Whoever the tall blonde girl waitress is needs a serious attitude check. Not only did she act like we were a complete inconvenience to her, but she had the nerve to roll her eyes every time we asked for something. Teach your staff how to at least be friendly... this was completely unacceptable. We probably won't be back!

Dinner last night was a treat at Carson's. It was a packed house, but we were able to get a table without much of a wait. We had been told the kitchen was a bit swamped, we we prepared for more of a wait, but to our surprise, the server saw us within 5 minutes of being seated and our salad was brought to the table within 5 minutes of ordering. The Candied Pecan, Apple & Gorgonzola salad was a generous portion, suitable for sharing. We both enjoyed it and found it to have a nice blend of texture and flavor. My husband ordered the Not Your Kid's Mac & Cheese. It has a nice flavor, but we do prefer it a bit firmer. Not judging harshly as the restaurant was indeed packed. My Kickin' Chicken wrap was delicious and I would order it again with a bit of extra bbq sauce. Thank you, Carson's, for a nice dinner. We'll be back.

Finally! Heard lots of good things about Carson's Woodside Tavern Near Saratoga Lake in Malta, NY. We visited here on Wed 7/21/21 5:15pm after a thunderstorm shortened our day at the races. Much bigger place than we thought. Spacious indoor & outdoor dining. We sat at the bar and watched a steady stream of railbirds and locals continue to fill up the place. Competent & attentive service at the bar. No names of guy & woman bartenders. We order a draft beer ($6.50) & a house wine ($7). We relaxed with our drinks & looked at the menu.
Lots to choose from here. WTF (Woodside Tavern Favorites) chicken wings in 10 flavors, 8 other apps, 6 huge salads, deli sandwiches, wraps, steaks, 12 entrees, & daily specials. My dearest had the vegetable soup de jour ($5.50) and the honey glazed sea scallop - "meal size" app ($19) for her dinner. I chose the French onion soup ($7) & the mahi fish tacos (2-$17.25) - fresh, spicy, crunchy cabbage slaw, jalapenos, cilantro, lime, and zippy sour cream sauce - filling & delicious. You can also get a mahi BLT! Excellency all around.
We had a second round of drinks w/ our dinner. As Saratoga goes it was still a good value at $96.00 w/ tax & tip.

This place is always packed. We have tried to go several times and the wait has always been about 45 minutes. Today we went at 4:30 pm and while outside seating was still a wait we sat at a table around the bar. Our server came over and she was friendly and took our drink and food order quickly and explained it takes about 30 minutes for the food to come out. Great! But then shift change happened and our server became a food runner and service went in the toilet. My french onion soup came out not hot and partly on the plate holding the crock. My husband's salad came but no utensils. He had to hunt someone down to get a fork. Then we waited for a server to ask if we wanted anything else to drink while we waited another 15 minutes for our meal.
Finally, our meal came served by our original server now food runner and she placed a to-go order for a chicken wrap. When she came back with the chicken wrap we asked about the chocolate chip cookie ala mode and how long it would take? We had thought it would be freshly baked. She said not long, so we ordered it to go. To our surprise, it was 4 chocolate chip cookies (Chips Ahoy looking and hard as rocks).
We said that we wanted the chocolate chip cookie dessert and the server said that was it. $7.95 for 4 cookies! OMG, we got ripped off. They must have laughed all the way to the bank. The server never returned and we went to the hostess station to pay.
The only thing I have to say about Carson's is my husband said the $35.00 steak was good. Never Again!!!!!!
