If you've been to drive-ins before and love them for what they are, you'll find the Malta Drive-In *perfect*. If you're used to all-digital IMAX experiences, well, not so much. The charm is in the cash-only ticket gate, the owner announcing before the movie to please pick up your garbage otherwise she has to come in tomorrow morning and do it, the kids playing in front of the screen before the show, the snack shack, etc. We LOVE it, every so often;)
Couple tips: come from the North as the line from the South is usually 10x as long, bring bug spray, keep the kids out of the weeds at the edge of the property or else you'll have ticks brought into your car, be forewarned you pay $5 to bring in outside food, which is still worth it for, say, a couple pizzas.
Despite the light rain, everything was great. The staff was friendly, and the movie quality was perfect. The snacks were a little pricey, so next time I would pay the additional $5 per car to bring in my own food. Some lighting along the rows would be helpful as well.
First drive-in I have ever been to, it was a good time and a cheap date. The snack bar was bigger than I expected and a little costly.
The Malta Drive-In Theater provided a nostalgic experience for my family and I. We enjoyed the Smurfs II in the comfort of our vehicle. There aren't many opportunities to see a movie in this fashion. It is nice that the Malta is still going strong. It also has upgraded its listening features from the last time I visited two years prior. They make deep fried Oreo's that are delicious and the price is right for entry and concessions.

Cant beat 10 bucks for two movies or more . Snack bar has yummy snacks (which is how they really make money to stay open). Get there early on weekends, line can take some time and bring bug spray, chairs, and citronella candles as well as an outdoor radio for a good time.
Went with friends. A great way to spend a beautiful night outdoors. Two screens and lots of options. Great "messy" food at the snack bar. Talk about old school fun. Glad it is still around.
