I was looking for nice and clean hotel to stay for an overnight trip to NYC. I wasn't thrilled with the lack of parking but it's New York...it goes with the territory. First thing we noticed was the "Happy Easter" light up sign on the front of the hotel. Our trip was after Thanksgiving 2019. Check in went well and we found close by street parking.
Heading to our room was a different story unfortunately. The directional signs upon leaving the elevator were wrong. It was a minor inconvenience but should be noted. Upon opening our room door, we were hit with a blast of cold air. We proceeded into the room to find out what was wrong. The light near the heater/air conditioner didn't work. We had to use our cell phone flashlights to see anything near the heating unit. We found out one of the windows behind the bed was open. In 30 degree weather.
We closed the window and cranked the heater up to 78*. Nothing. Still felt like cold air. So we headed back to the check in desk to ask for a different room. I was told to shut the window and the employee at the desk would be up in 5 minutes to look at the heater. She had to crank the heat up to 86* to even get any heat coming out of it. We had to wait well over an hour after getting to our room to even feel like we could take our coats off in our room.
We weren't looking for fancy or high class but only a place to crash for the night. But sadly we found much worse than that.
