Great place to stay for visiting NYC!!

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 11 Nov 2019
This was such a great place to stay for a trip to NYC!! A subway station a block away that gets you quickly into the city. What I mostly wanted to commend were the front desk people and our housekeeper. They were all amazing!! The only name I knew was Connie (front desk) and she couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. Whenever we'd leave or come back the desk people always greeted us from across the lobby or told us to have a great day. I've stayed in many places throughout the world and have never been treated so well. Breakfasts were great and the room was always cleaned and in a timely manner. I will definitely stay there again. Thank you thank you thank you!!

We spent 5 nights in the hotel. Breakfast was good, we liked the choice of food. It is very close to subway, 5 minutes from Manhattan. We have been whole days in the city, but we liked the bed and comfy pillows. We recommend this hotel.

I NEVER write reviews on anything but I just had to because of the exceptional WOW factor experience I had with Liana at the front desk! If only everyone was nice like her in NY! She literally made our day because of her great service and cute personality!

Very convenient access to mid-town Manhattan and JFK with direct subway links (E & R Lines) to JFK, Penn Station, NY Bus Terminal & Central Park and Downtown to World Trade Ctr & Battery Park areas. A smart modern hotel with simple but good quality rooms incl a bath tub which is essential for us, a good b'fast incl hot options and excellent People - thank you Jessica and Big Boss for your friendly and professional help at Reception.
Current Problem? Major construction work around the Hotel and Plaza Station can make for a disturbed night unless you request a room on the 'quiet side' of the Hotel. Not a major problem for us but this work looks set to last for several more months

Room tip: As per my Review above...just ask for a quiet room on the west side

We stayed here because of convenience. Very convenient to both LGA and Midtown. It was about a $0 Uber or taxi to LGA and about the same to Times Square. The free breakfast was fresh. Breakfast was the normal Fairfield Inn breakfast, waffles, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, danish, cereal. The only complaint I have was the $11 glass of wine. This tasted like a $3 bottle of wine and way overpriced. Loved the friendly staff and clean room and best of all the location.

My friend and I stayed for 2 nights Oct 18-20.
The hotel is close to an elevated subway that takes you to Time Square Manhattan. The weekend of our stay, there was no subway service at closest the stop, so we did not have to worry about the noise at night. I didn’t mind walking an extra 7 minutes to the next stop. The staff was fabulous-- very friendly and accommodating. The free breakfast a nice addition. There were omelets, sausage, toast, waffles, fruit, juices, coffee, oatmeal, and cereal. The hotel is in an industrial neighborhood, but I felt safe. There was an awesome Indian restaurant and a great Thai restaurant nearby.
There were a few minor things that keep me from giving the hotel rave reviews. There are only 15 floors but only 2 elevators, making for a long elevator wait. The rooms were smaller than average. This made it difficult to sit at the desk since there was just a small space for the chair. While the beds, bathroom, floors were clean, the walls and windows in the room needed cleaning. Lastly, at 6:15 AM an alarm stating ”this is a false alarm” went off in all the rooms. While we paid a reasonable weekend rate for the room, I felt like the weekday rate (which is $100 less per night) is more reflective of the hotel’s value. Despite this, I would stay here again and would recommend this hotel for an affordable and comfortable stay in NYC.
