My friend and I stayed for 2 nights Oct 18-20.
The hotel is close to an elevated subway that takes you to Time Square Manhattan. The weekend of our stay, there was no subway service at closest the stop, so we did not have to worry about the noise at night. I didn’t mind walking an extra 7 minutes to the next stop. The staff was fabulous-- very friendly and accommodating. The free breakfast a nice addition. There were omelets, sausage, toast, waffles, fruit, juices, coffee, oatmeal, and cereal. The hotel is in an industrial neighborhood, but I felt safe. There was an awesome Indian restaurant and a great Thai restaurant nearby.
There were a few minor things that keep me from giving the hotel rave reviews. There are only 15 floors but only 2 elevators, making for a long elevator wait. The rooms were smaller than average. This made it difficult to sit at the desk since there was just a small space for the chair. While the beds, bathroom, floors were clean, the walls and windows in the room needed cleaning. Lastly, at 6:15 AM an alarm stating ”this is a false alarm” went off in all the rooms. While we paid a reasonable weekend rate for the room, I felt like the weekday rate (which is $100 less per night) is more reflective of the hotel’s value. Despite this, I would stay here again and would recommend this hotel for an affordable and comfortable stay in NYC.
