Did the job

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 14 Dec 2018
This was our first stop on our 6 day trip to the US. We knew in advance this would be a budget hotel so expectations were in line with that.
We arrived early in the morning and our room was available which was nice so we checked in. Only issue with the room was a broken lamp but not enough to cause an issue. Bed was big, bathroom was of an acceptable level of cleanliness unless you really went looking, shower was hot and temperatures easily managed.
Minimal space to move around the room but again we didnt spend huge amounts of time in it so no major problem there either.
My only major gripe was the noise, both from slamming exit doors, room doors and the traffic outside. As many reviews have stated, the location is in the middle of 2-3 busy roads and with NYC being relentless in terms of traffic the noise was always noticeable.
Breakfast whilst minimal was nice but the staff at breakfast seemed more interested in their own phones and talking among each other.
In terms of local amenities, there is a 7/11 at the back of the hotel which is good for snacks, foods, drinks and some cooked foods too. Prices are reasonable in here. There is also a larger shop further up the road with an equally good selection of foods. Couple of cafe's, diners and an Indian restaurant close by. 33rd-Rawson St station is the most convenient metro station and that gets you into Grand Central in about 10 mins or Times square in 15. You can get metro cards at the station and these can be topped up easily at every station. We found the metro very useful. That said, the stations that are not in Manhattan are either miles above ground or miles below.
Overall, we had a pretty decent stay at the hotel and would recommend for those looking for a cost effective short stay. Not ideal for families and longer holidays in my opinion.
Front desk staff were excellent throughout and provided great help for getting to La Guardia when we left the hotel.

Stayed for 2 nights whilst on business. Very much a budget hotel and in need of some TLC. Room and bathroom looked tired, mould in the shower but bed was comfy! Noisy location from the unceasing traffic, metro passing above and beside the hotel and nightly road works digging up the road. Given a choice I'd rather not stay again

We enjoyed our recent 4 night stay here.
Check in was fast and friendly, and we appreciated the clerk’s recommendation to be able to pick up snacks and drinks for the mini fridge at the 7-11 next door.
The room was small, but comfortable, and although we didn’t have a microwave in the room, there was one available for use in the breakfast area. Speaking of breakfast, the morning service was good each day, with a selection of eggs, sausage, pastries, cereal, and fruit.
The location was very convenient to two different train stops, with the 7 train being a three minute walk and the E,M, and R lines an easy 7 minute walk. We usually walked to the E,M, and R because there was less need for crossing traffic. There was a lot of noise at night from the trains and car horns, but I’m sure that is part of being in the city.
All in all, we felt the hotel was a good value, convenient, and loved that it only took 20-30 minutes to get to Times Square. We would stay again.

Needed a place close to LaGuardia airport for a 24 hour stay. Got a room with a king sized bed and breakfast on Expedia for $187 with tax. Free parking on premises is very limited - I think I counted a total of 10 spots - but we arrived at 3 pm on a Friday and got one. The bed was comfy, everything was clean, and the shower pressure/temperature were fine. Slightly annoying that the bathroom door wouldn't stay open. Check in and out were easy. Room had a fridge and flatscreen TV, neither of which we used. Only about a 4 minute walk to the 7 line of the subway into midtown Manhattan. Would stay here again under similar circumstances.

Long Island City is so close to Manhattan, it's worth it to stay here to save money. Area is little gritty looking but is perfectly safe. Plenty of car/pedestrian traffic up to 9:00 pm on a weekday. I never felt unsafe walking back to the hotel at night. There is a 7-11 next door. It's a 5 min walk to the 33rd St station on the 7 train, and it's 5 stops to Grand Central.

The rooms are clean, but the furniture/fixtures are beat up. Toilet handle was loose (missing the retaining nut). The switch on one of the wall lamps was loose (again, missing a retaining nut). Guests really bang things up. Still, these little things should be fixed. My wardrobe closet had the door removed. Probably broken by a guest. The fridge in the room is big, which is nice, so you can store larger bottles of water/soda standing up.

The toilet in the bathroom is extremely low flow. I swear, it seems like it doesn't flush more than a quart of water. But it works, much to my surprise.

The continental breakfast is basic, but it's pretty decent way to start your day--eggs, sausage, juice, coffee, bread/rolls, cereal, yogurt.

Stayed here Bc most hotels booked during fashion week. Inconvenient location (have stayed elsewhere in LIC without any difficulty getting a cab/Lyft or food nearby). Staff is the only highlight as everyone I encountered was kind and helpful. The hotel is poorly maintained. I got stuck with a smoking room and was appalled by the condition of the room (see photos). The bed was comfy but everything in the room had this patina of misery and the stench of old cigarettes and desperation. There were people in and out of my floor, the emergency exit door was propped open at all hours, and I’m pretty sure the room’s door couldn’t withstand a swift kick. The continental breakfast was inadequate (would only trust the raisin toast) and the eating area was filled with boxes and didn’t look clean. This place needs a overhaul; it doesn’t live up to the usual Wyndham experience.
