Service was terrible, we were all dressed nicely... and the drinks were plonked on the table. Unopened. I needed to find some one to open our drinks and give us glasses for the ciders.. empty coffee cups left on the table. Not checked if we liked the meal. Menus left on the table. I asked for all dressings and onion on the side of my daughters meal, onions on top of meat, dressing all over the lettuce, with sooooo much pepper on top. Strange meal. What happened at Margarets?

This Cafe has declined badly, have been there and had superb meals and now it is very much not up to standard at all. So very disappointing.

The food was ok but the service was shocking. Very disorganised. Meals were staggered at different times, mine arrived 45 minutes after my friend got hers.
I’m not going back there any time soon

This had been recommended, having had high tea a number of times in a few different places, we had a reasonable expectation of what this entailed. The price sight unseen appeared very reasonable, but reality did not match expectation. The sandwiches were two slices of thick toast bread, with one filling not club sandwiches that you would normally expect, with salmon paste and luncheon slice being two of the fillings. the savouries were dry and lacking in flavor, clearly mass purchased and microwaved. the tarts despite varying appearance were all much the same flavour All in all, at best, disappointing presentation, disappointing taste, grossly disappointing waste of money. Service was as lack Lustre as food, had to approach waitress to request coffee after attempting to get her attention for at least 10 minutes.

If your looking for a Saturday lunch with family and friends then this is NOT the place as they only have weddings on a Saturday, which is not shown on the website and when booking. To turn up and be told it’s closed to the public is not the best way, maybe the web site should be changed ?
Sunday’s are usually booked well in advance as Space is limited. Frustrating when your a local who can’t get in to support local business. If you do get to enjoy a meal it is with a walk around the pond to see the wild life and enjoy the gardens. Thanks
