We had an incredibly nice stay at this hotel. We stayed here for two nights after cruising for 22 days. The rooms are nicely furnished. It’s new too. We were warmly greeted when we arrived, and every time we returned. The warm cookies were appreciated!
We ate two meals in the bar, and they were bot( yummy.

Easy booking with booking.com. Lovely friendly staff. Clean hotel - spotless. Close to fast food - over the road. Location has easy access to Auckland, airport and Hamilton. Quiet. Super modern technology. Huge gym and lovely outdoor pool with many guest lounges

Had an amazing 5day stay with my partner at this hotel. Staff were friendly and informative and the room was stunning with the little extras provided. They really did make my 1st time- in a hotel experience great, will definitely come back for another stay sometime this year! Well done Double Tree by Hilton👍

I tend to only write reviews if something is utterly terrible, or absolutely outstanding. Thankfully this review is because of the latter. We used the Hilton Karaka as a little staycation destination for a night over the Christmas break. From the minute you drive onto the well manicured grounds, everything is perfect. Check was super smooth and the receptionist was really friendly. Room was perfect and everything clean and well kept. The pool was a highlight for us - lots of chairs and pool towels available. The pool is heated, which even in summer is lovely for us parents who feel the cold easily but like a dip with our kids. Breakfast the next morning was amazing and again the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our family all left after thoroughly enjoying our stay.

Hotel has a nice location right outside Auckland, only 25min drive to downtown. Amenities like Pool is great for kids and the family, hotel staff is friendly in general.
3 improvement points I have raised to the hotel:
1. This is the first Hilton Hotel I have visited where they differentiate between intercontinental breakfast and full breakfast. Full breakfast has to be paid extra 15NZD, even though you are silver, gold or diamond member. PS: This was not the case at the two other Double Tree Hilton Hotels me and the family stayed in Christchurch and Wellington.
2. Coffee like Cappuccino costs 6NZD extra, even though you are silver, gold or diamond member, why? That's the wrong end to improve the business case for the hotel the way I see it. PS: This was free of charge at the two other Double Tree Hilton Hotels me and the family stayed in Christchurch and Wellington.
3. Personal should not offer kids a hot chocolate for breakfast and then present the bill (6NZD) to the parents afterwards. It's like offering children a lollipop and then charge you for it. This is inappropriate.
I hope the Hotel will improve on this as we would like to come again (with the above being rectified)
