There are very few German restaurants left on Long Island. This is one worth a visit. They offer a wide range of choices of food items and lots of beers. Our food was generally good, not great and the service was somewhat slow but the beer was cold and some choices were fun e.g. very large pretzels and dips and a terrific apple cake to share.

My wife and I drove by the restaurant a few months ago and it looked interesting so we stopped by after a hike at Storm King Mountain. It was a warm October evening around 6PM when we drove in and they had a Biergarden set up on the outside of the restaurant with around 10 tables half filled with patrons. We sat down at one of the picnic tables and waited for service which never came. The waiter and waitress walked by us several times serving others but never said a word to us. We eventurally decided to go inside to the bar and have a beer. The bartender was busy with the restaurant beverage orders and barely had time for us. Most of the beer taps were not working and we were told that they do not have a bar menu and do not serve food at the bar. We finished our beers and left the restaurant to go somewhere else. I cannot comment on the food but the service was very poor. I will not be going back.

We haven't been there in a while so my husband and I decided to get our Oktoberfest fix and stopped for lunch on a Saturday. First, the hostess who seated us was the most apathetic human I have ever seen. She walked us to a table and threw the menus down, walking away without a word. The server was marginally better. Then we found out they did not have any if the beers we wanted! This was a brewery, for heaven's sake! We opted to make a meal of appetizers: potato pancakes, stuffed potato dumplings, and something called flamecake. The flamecake was the best of the bunch. The pancakes and dumplings were dry, tasteless and way overcooked. Oh well.......

Wanted to try something new and love German food. If you love Beer this is the place, It was a Saturday night and they had a tent outside with music. Fun atmosphere but really not for couples for a nice dinner. Staff were pleasant and accommodating, but the food was so so. Could have eaten at a dinner! seemed like a nice selection but again packaged brown gravy on most items. the best part was the red cabbage. Nice selection of apps to go with the beer. But if you want good German food go elsewhere.
