Two nights for a wedding. Left feeling unclean due to smoky smell permeating the halls and breakfast area with no obvious Covid protocols being followed: crowded with unmasked strangers, no spacing. The soap container in the shower was empty, only decaf coffee in the room but that did not matter because the coffee cups were too tall for the coffee maker!
This is definitely an older Marriott Fairfield property that does try to look newer but, fails in some areas. As soon as you drive up, the parking lot shows its age.
First off, this is our second Marriott property in two days. I was greeted with a smile as soon as I walked in the door (not so the previous Springfield). Two thumbs up to the desk attendant. Fresh hot coffee was made available. The lobby was clean and nicely furnished.
Our room.....this is by far the worst layout of any room at a Marriott we have ever stayed in. A long narrow hall to the bed & desk. No place to open our suitcases. There is a TV, coffee pot, microwave, refrigerator, drawers, desk & chair along the wall which is a plus. No sense loading the dresser doors with our clothes for one night.

Hopefully, not every room has this lousy layout.

I do apologize that the room you were in did not come close to what you expect from a Marriott Fairfield Inn. We would like to have another opportunity to have you stay--if you consider it, please let us know you were here before and we will do our best to make your next stay a better one
Stayed at the Fairfield for a basketball tournament in Saratoga. There was 3 of us to include our 13 year old daughter. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Plenty of covid sanitize area's. Hotel is dated (1980) looking. Rooms were clean but room did not have trash bags or any shower amenities. Called front desk and was told there was issues with plastic bags? (I know NY has a .05 fee to buy plastic bags at shopping centers) But they provided me a trash bag. Housekeeping came up and gaves us shower amenities. Location was about 35 minutes from Saratoga Springs. The hotel was very noisy at night due to several basketball teams and a full hotel. Breakfast was covid style. Being it had basically nothing. Plus it seemed like it was not kept stocked well. Coffee was empty and took 20 minutes to replace. Overall it was decent for the price. It also had a pool that wasn't open. Would i stay again? Probably not, there was better options. Also FYI, they only have 1 elevator so if the hotel is full your wait time is high! We did a lot of waiting..

Quick stay before catching an early morning train to NYC. Clean, quiet, comfortable, large room. Close to the Amtrak Train station. Dining options near by. Friendly staff. Quick and easy check in/check out. Would recommend for anyone needing a place to stay before or after taking the train.

We stayed 10 days at this hotel from 5-14-2020 to 5-23-2020 . Chantel , Robert and the rest of the staff went above and beyond to make our stay awesome at this difficult time that we are all facing. This was the first time that we had stayed here at this hotel and we will definitely be back. The staff at this hotel went out of their way to clean and disinfect the rooms and premises. I give them an A +++++++
