Good spot to stay right near La Guardia

We stayed here for one night between landing at JFK and leaving La Guardia airport the next morning.
The hotel’s doors are locked between 5pm and 5am so entry is via calling on the doorbell, if you can locate it. Not in a clear spot and the signs don’t direct you to it at all.
Rooms are clean and basic.
There are reasonable food options available on site, and a shuttle service to La Guardia.

The hotel could be five stars, with a few improvements. First, when you walk in to the hotel and need to go down the elevator, you are assaulted with loud music and bright lights. Uggh. You are assaulted again every time you go the elevator. Second, you can't turn the bathroom light on at night without the room lighting up, because of a very badly placed window. Third, we stayed on the highway side, and the noise abatement, while better than some, was still inadequate to keep street noise out.

Room tip: Ask to be on the non-highway side, and bring a flashlight.

Had to get to the airport for an early morning flight. Two things about this place were fantastic Sean behind the bar and Camila at reception. Both wonderfully friendly and helpful.
I arrived after 3 days around Time Square and felt frazzled but Sean and Camila did everything they could. It’s an airport hotel but with a little more oomph than most.

We did a park, sleep and fly with overnight at the begining and end of our trip. Overall it was mostly an excellent experience. Positive points--the bed is comfortable, the ventilation works well and is quiet (more later), airport shuttle is efficient, the restaurant is good, staff is pleasant. There very little noise on either side of the building long as you lower the shades.
The parking is limited, but the manager made sure my parking location was ok. Although I had 7 nights parking, there are no in and out privileges . We were going out for dinner the 1st night if I left the car for 2 hrs (over 30min). it was going to be $18. I was able to find street parking near the hotel for the few hours. The heating/cooling works well, but there should be instructions near the controller. We needed to ask for help to adjust the temperature. Once we understood the system it was fine. The restaurant is pleasant, but isn't connected so food can't be charged to the room. Previously mentioned the lighting is inadequate in the room. There is a window in the shower/toilet that allows light into the room. Leaving a light at night in the bathroom is very disturbing. Adding a shade outside the window would solve the issue. It seems like a sensless design.

They stole our money!! Do not stay at Aloft New York Laguardia Airport hotel. The account manager, Melissa, admitted that they made a mistake by charging our stay to two credit cards but she would not issue a refund. Her accounting practices are unscrupulous!!

Room tip: The room was small but it's close to the airport. The gate wouldn't lift so the van couldn't get out of the parking lot on time.

I have my stay booked for May 2024, but wanted to write a review now of the most amazing sales coordinator ever!!! Jasmin R. went above and beyond and was so extremely helpful and just truly embodied excellent customer service. I highly recommend working with this hotel! Kudos to employing people that care.
