My family (husband, daughters, 19 and 20 and myself) went to Canjoharie for my husband's high school reunion and stayed at this farm house. it's renovated beautifully. The kitchen and bathrooms were up to date. They had brand new washer and dryer. The view from the front porch is so relaxing and just peaceful. We saw fire flies at night. My daughters visited the horses they rescued. Bob, Ann and Diane were so welcoming and made us comfortable. I enjoyed every moment at this place. We wish they had internet or TV but we were busy sitting outside just relaxing. We'll definitely stay there if we go back to Canjoharie. Thank you, Bob, Ann and Diane. We had such wonderful time.
We spent a delightful three days at the Herrick House and were warmly received by Bob, Annie and Diane. The house is located in rolling countryside with beautiful views of surrounding horse farms. The house is very attractively and comfortably furnished with attention to small details. There is no television or wifi, but there are plenty of good reading lights, and it is delightful to sit on the porch to read or just view the world go by and possibly spy a deer grazing in the yard.
The charming village of Canajoharie is only about five miles away. Wifi is available at the local library or in several restaurants. There is a good Italian restaurant and a delightful sandwich shop. Everyone with whom we spoke was very friendly. If we had had more time, we would have visited the excellent museum. We also wish that we could have explored the lock across the Mohawk River and the remnants of the Erie Canal.
Since the main purpose of our visit was genealogy research, we spent most of our time in the library of the NY State Historical Association which is located on the grounds of the Fenimore Museum in Cooperstown, an easy drive of about 20 miles from the Herrick House. While there, we had a causal lunch on the lakeside patio of the museum and dinner on the terrace of the Cooperstown Resort. The lake on which Cooperstown is located is spectacularly beautiful.
We wish that we could have stayed longer at the Herrick House, but the following three days were already booked when we made our reservation.. We have fond memories of our stay there and hope to return there before too long.

We really enjoyed our stay at the house. Location was perfect for our out of town guests to easily access thruway and Cooperstown. I gave a 4 for over all just because of the sulfur water. We were unaware, however, we would stay again!
We booked for 3 days but stayed a 4th because we enjoyed the house and surroundings so much. Bob, Ann, and Diane were welcoming and gracious and we immediately felt at home. We hope to have another chance to come back and stay longer. A delightful experience!
