“Think 'Cadillac Camping'...”

This was a good place to relax, sleep and eat while we discovered Taos last week. It is small, peaceful and quiet and a little worn around the edges, but comfortable for two and has amazing views! The bed is super soft which my husband loved, but with back issues I preferred the futon which has a much firmer mattress. There was plenty of clean bedding. The kitchen was clean and well equipped, but needs a new coffee pot and a few other worn out accessories.
The bathroom was clean and adequate. A few more bath towels would be nice. Really appreciate having a washer and dryer, but the laundry room needs a good cleaning. That's the only reason for a "4" in the Cleanliness area. I think this place will most meet expectations if you consider where you are going...the laid back town of Taos.

“Charming and well appointed”

We stayed for two nights. The Casita is located several minutes' drive from Taos. The directions sent by Randy, the owner, were spot on and led us straight there. This little guest house is adjacent to the owner's home but separate and private. The open floor plan gives it a spacious feeling. We didn't do any real cooking, since we stayed only two nights and had to fly home, but the kitchen is well equipped, even including a coffee grinder. Everything was clean and up to date and we had everything we needed. We especially enjoyed the fireplace and the deck, with its gorgeous view of the mountains. I have no complaints and would definitely stay here again if I have the opportunity.

“Perfect In Every Way”
Reviewed 14 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

We stayed here for three nights at the beginning of October after traveling through northern New Mexico and southern Colorado the previous week. The house is situated on a private road in a quiet area, but only about a ten minute easy drive into the center of Taos. It's truly a perfect getaway for solitude, privacy and romance. We loved it. The house is exceptionally well-equipped, with everything you could possibly need from a coffee grinder to a barbecue grill to a washer and dryer (we even did a load of laundry) to binoculars for wildlife spotting to a fully stocked whatever you might need for cooking kitchen. The bed was incredibly comfortable. We found that we spent lots of hours sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine, just watching the colors change on the mountains. The views were lovely. The house is probably best suited to a couple. While a third person could sleep on the couch, the interior of the house is open, so there is no closed private bedroom. The house is located next to the owners' home, but there is a carport to park in and a separate gated entrance. There is also the owners hot tub to use, located in their yard. At first, my husband felt awkward about going over to their yard, but the owners were extremely nice and we were happy to use it several times. You can see so many stars there at night. We would highly recommend this vacation rental to anyone looking for a romantic private place in the Taos area and we will book this place again without question the next time we are in the area.

“cute with good kitchen”
Reviewed 7 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Overall this is a cute place, well-furnished, reasonably spacious & comfortable. The bed is especially comfortable. We also appreciated the functionality of the kitchen & the good supply of kitchen equipment, including a variety of sharp knives(!), which are so rare in a rental kitchen.

The devil is in the details though, & this place is not perfect. The laundry area in particular gets a lot less cleaning attention than the rest of the place (which was very clean), almost as if whoever is doing the cleaning just ignores it. I would call that a significant flaw; others were much less significant but altogether add up to a 4-dot instead of a 5-dot experience. Owners seemed receptive to feedback, so hopefully all will be fixed. Also I freely admit to being a clean-freak perfectionist, so normal people will probably be happy here ;)

The views are great, the surroundings are quiet & feel remote (in a good way) while actually being quite convenient to town. Even though it's right next to the owners' house, it felt super private -- my spouse arrived earlier & met them, but I never even saw them.
