Tremisana Game Lodge was the first night accommodation on a four day Kruger safari offered by Viva Safaris from Johannesburg. After transfer from OR Tambo International Airport we settled in to our chalets before departing on a 3 hour afternoon/evening game drive within the Balule Game Reserve. The grounds are beautiful and the chalets clean and comfortable. The game drive went out in the late afternoon with sunset about midway through the drive. Hippo, Cape Buffalo and a lion on a fresh kill were spotted along with many smaller animals before returning for dinner and drinks. The food was very good and quite plentiful, very nice after a long day of travel and viewing in the reserve.
In the morning there were coffee and snacks before departing on a 4 hour game walk. We drove to a spot close to the Oliphants River before heading off on foot to the river. Our guide kept up a very informative narrative on the tracks and scat we were seeing. Hippo, crocs and birds were seen along the river and then we stopped for a break and snacks. After that was finished we turned inland trying to find the big male lion from the previous evening. Tracking a lion that had a kill nearby was an exhilarating experience even if we did fail to locate him! We then returned to the lodge for brunch and a swim in the pool before our 2 hour afternoon drive which turned up zebra, rhino, giraffe and elephant. Upon return we departed for Marc's Tree House Lodge for the remainder of our tour into Kruger.
Viva offers a tremendous value with their safari, especially since I had stayed at the MoAfrica Lodge upon my arrival in Johannesburg. Because of that stay I received a 10% discount on tours offered by Viva Safaris which made my price $512US. Transfer from Tambo, 3 hour game drive, 4 hour big game walk, 2 hour game drive, dinner, brunch and chalet for $125 is an incredible price in Africa for a solo traveler. The group I was with consisted of two young German girls and a young Dutch man working internships in Capetown, along with 28 year old Dutch twin sisters and myself, a 55 year old American man. Great fun and comradery among ourselves, our guides, drivers and staff. I can't speak highly enough about the experience provided by Viva Safaris and the Tremisana Game Lodge.

I stayed at the Tremisana game lodge for five days this November, and stayed for one day here and four days at the Marc's tree house last November. I loved the experience (obviously, I came back within a year!), the staff were very helpful and friendly, and would do anything to make sure you are satisfied and helpful, they make you feel that you belong to a family. The service was great, the food was so delicious. The safari trips were adventurous, the rangers were knowledgeable and with a great sense of humor!
I recommend this place with no reservation.
Enjoy a life time experience guys!!

My daughter and I had a great time last month at this lodge as well as Marc's Tree House. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. We did the 5 Day Safari and saw a lot of animals on all days out on safari. The trip was very well planned with little down time. We like to be on the go and this provided that rate of activity. I would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone who wants an economical trip with some comforts. The grounds are well maintained and the rooms are very clean. The bar service was a little lacking so plan accordingly.

Room Tip: If you want a unique experience, stay at the Marc' s tree houses at least a couple of nights.

I did a 3 day safari experience at Tremisana lodge recently and it was fantastic from start to finish. The tours are well organised and the guides are highly knowledgable. Bongani took us on the Guided walk and that was the highlight for me...walking near the Oliphants river seeing fresh tracks and Hippos nearby was quite exhilarating. The amenities are super clean and comfortable, the food is great and the schedule is also good allowing for relax time in between adventures. Hard to fault!!

Accommodation was in good condition and beds made up dailty (amonst our clutter). Food was good and wholesume - but seemed to have a 3 day rotations - and being there 4 nights - we had the same menu twice.

The presence of numerous bougainvilleas and various palms and cycads gives the camp a subtropical feel. Water features add a soothing effect and the overall feel of Tremisana is very relaxing.
