After spending a morning walking up and down Franschoek, stopping off at Tuk Tuk for a local brew was a welcome rest for my weary feet. The local brewed beer recommended by the staff member was excellent. His presentation and knowledge good. If you are a beer person - this is a must do.

An impulsive visit to treat a family member to a leisurely drive and lunch.. this restaurant was the pit stop.. however the small portion of chicken with chips was not worth it..most of the chips served was burnt which appeared like the scrapings of the bottom of the pan..this was obvious after noticing another patron's dish which was a lovely golden colour...

The beer in that place wasn't great, there are other beer companies, who speak more to my pallet. Their food looked nice, however it felt overpriced. It seems to be the place for the young pretty people, so go there and enjoy their company.
One thing however needs mentioning and that's the design of their bathrooms. They are great, go there and check them out!

Oh my goodness what better way to finish off the day on the wine tram! All I wanted was some good wholesome food to help soak up the wine.
Burger!!!
Tuk tuk was on the corner of the road that we were staying in. Sat outside because it was a gorgeous evening. I had the cheese burger & hubby had the Tex Mex burger.
Both were excellently cooked. The chips were fab & the large beer helped it all go down!
We had an unexpected dinner guest above us but he was having his dinner too! Definitely a popular spot and good food to boot.

My wife and I came periodically while on a fortnights vacation and we loved it. It is on the main street and so picks up a lot of passing trade meaning it can get busy. However that just lends the place some atmosphere. Beers are good - I fell in love with the imperial ipa - and they offer 2 different beer tastings which are fun. The wine selection is also pretty good. Since this is really a pub, the food on offer is not fine dining. However, the nachos are good as apparently are the chips.
