We enjoyed our stay but it was quite basic and we never met the owners - we had to go looking around the farm for someone to get a key when we first arrived and actually ended up checking in another family ourselves because they had the same issue. The wifi also did not work properly. We had some nice braais but we essentially organised these ourselves. On our last day a lady just burst into our house and interrupted our breakfast to settle payment which we thought was quite abrupt and unnecessary - although saved us searching around the farm again as for check in.

What a wonderful stay! A real gem up on the hillside close enough to town to be convenient, far enough away to feel you're a bit rural...Service fantastic, lovely horse ride, beautiful views, just what we were looking for for our anniversary weekend away. Will definitely go again...

We spent 1 night there on our way to the garden route and were amazed at the views, atmosphere and beauty of the cottage. Horses are not necessarily my thing but truly it was enchanting to stay near them! The cottage was exceptionally well kept, furnished and had everything you could think of. SA hospitality at its best! Our only regret is to have booked only one night, we just didn't want to leave.
You are free to feed the horses or touch them, you wake up seeing them going about their lives. The mountain in the backdrop is magnificent! After a long wine tasting day at Franshhoek farms that is what we needed. Thank you!
We will come back to stay more, definitely!

Room Tip: We stayed at Scott cottage and loved it! Nice views from the master bedroom.

What an amazing place for views!

Lovely cottage with everything you need
We love the outdoor area with braai and table and chairs overlooking Franschhoek.
Gorgeous sunrise from the bed and watching the sunset with a glass of wine from the lawn.

Friendly horses and 2 huge dogs that are so sweet.

We loved staying here the views were incredible.... miss being there!
Will definitely book again on our next trip to SA

Wanted a quiet location with pleasant views. Mountain views on all sides, the colours changing all day as the sun moved east to west. Outside the cottage was a paddock with a couple of horses which my elderly mother-in-law fed apples and carrots nearly everyday. We were regularly visited by a couple of Great Danes which she enjoyed and spoilt rotten. Although she was confused at times, it was a wonderful holiday.
