Review of Minerals Hotel

Went with my cousin for a 2 night getaway. Some really good things - the beds are comfortable and rooms reasonably quiet at night. They provide bottled water, a coffee maker and a mini refrigerator. The pool area is really pretty and they have plenty of lifeguards. Pools are heated so you can swim outside even when it is cold out. And there are some activities from the resort, the sister resort and the included athletic club. Breakfast at the restaurant (only Kites was open when we were there) was fine - food decent and service was friendly. There is a really nice gym that is part of the hotel complex and outdoor lighted pickelball courts!

My concern was about the lack of safety standards. The outdoor pool has a hut with a lifeguard and a space heater that is plugged in right in front of his feet. He would literally have to jump over it to get to the pool. It could easily, it seemed, end up in the water and electrocute the swimmers. We brought this to the attention of the front desk staff and it was not rectified. We suggested putting the fan behind the lifeguard instead of in front of him if they had to have a plugged in space heater at all so close to the water. I was horrified that they would do this at all and then continue to do it even after we pointed out how dangerous it is. We chose not to use the pool for this reason. Also, while the bathtub/shower combo in the room was very nice, it was very slippery and there were no protections - handles or even mats for the tub. The last negative is that the wifi is awful and only seems to work in the common areas. We mentioned it and "IT" was going to "work on it" but it wasn't resolved.

Some other things to note - not affecting the rating but good to know. When we went there was only one restaurant available. There are several really good places outside of the resort however so not an issue. Also, they charge 3% to use credit cards for the hotel bill which haven't seen before for a hotel, but accept cash and debit cards. We paid by cash and strangely for a company that wants cash, they do not have the ability to provide change. Not a big deal but good to know.

I was considering this for a family trip with the grandkids but the pool issue is a deal killer for me. The hotel response to our concern was troubling.

Dear evasgrandma,

Thank you for having recently been a guest of ours and also for taking a few moments to share your experience with me.

That said, we appreciate all of your honest feedback of which is valued tremedously – thank you also for bringing your genuine concern lregarding the location of the space heater to my attention. I will be following up with our pool manager as well as risk management manager regarding this safety issue.

I would like to apologize for the issues you encountered concerning our wifi in some areas throughout the hotel and will also be checking on this as well.

For future stays, I did want to let you know that bath mats can be requested from housekeeping and that we do also offer some rooms that have safety grab bars as features upon request.

This aside, we do hope you reconsider returning to Minerals Hotel at some point in the future and would love to see you all again!

Kind Regards,

Mike

The pool was amazing there were pools outside inside pool hot tub, even in November you can use the outdoor pool. The water is warm. The customer service was on point and friendly. You have it all in one place, pool, food, games, arcade and an amazing view everywhere.

We came here for the Harvest Trail. The staff here were fabulous. Very helpful, friendly and professional. The accommodations were clean with a nice view. We went on the wine cellar tour and the wine director who gave the tour was amazing. She was extremely knowledgeable and answered all the questions my wife and I had. I can’t recommend this tour enough.

If there was anything that I could say could use improvement the guest WiFi was very poor. Most of the times we were in the room we got poor to no reception.

The hotel does charge an extra 3% if you use charge card so you will need to use debit card or cash not to incur this charge.

Hello Bulldog201,

Thank you for taking a few minutes to share your recent stay experience with me.

I'm so glad to hear that everything was wonderful and that you found everyone on our team to be full of the warmest hospitality.

Our award winning wine cellar over at our sister property is truly a one of a kind experience and it's so amazing to learn how much you and your wife enjoyed this part of your stay!

That said, I am sorry if the wifi experience was a bit poor and will certainly pass this onto our hotel operations team as feedback.

Please visit us again some soon – CHEERS!!

We went at the last minute for one night in October. Luckily the weather was fantastic and we had a great time. The outdoor pool was so warm and nice. The indoor pools were also so nice and I did a water aerobic class which was so fun! I had an amazing facial with Grace. She was beyond amazing.
The happy hour with Ian in Kites was great. Dinner and breakfast at Kites also good.
Great for a quick getaway.

Room tip: We heard it gets very crowded in the summer with lots of kids.

Had a wonderful experience at your lovely , bucolic venue for my nephew’s wedding !
Food was excellent ! Staff courteous and delightfully polite. Front desk & security could not do enough to make us feel welcomed and comfortable.
Pools were well maintained with an attentive life-guard staff.

A special stand-out was Hostess Kimberley ; she went above & beyond to
accommodate me & my elderly , disabled
Mother, Patricia.
She seated her with easy access, recommended the tastiest specialties , and gave her a drink on the house.

I highly recommend you !
Thank you !

I'm a long standing member of Mineral Springs Gym. I go to the gym to work out at least 3 days a week. I like it there, especially the weight room and assistants Coleen and Karen who are very conversent with the large amount of equipment that is available. I now know how use it all, thanks to them. They go above and beyond on a daily basis.
