Relaxing Weekend with my BFF

Review of Minerals Hotel
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 22 Jul 2024
Had a wonderful relaxing time. All the staff were friendly and attentive to all our needs. The room was clean and comfortable, and the pool was a joy. The entertainment at the Moonshine bar was fantastic. They played all of "Our music". I highly recommend this for a girl's weekend, a family reunion or a couple's getaway. They really cater to all. P.S. the breakfast buffet was delicious!!

We spent the weekend at the Minerals for a large family wedding. Both the ceremony and the reception were held at the hotel’s outdoor venues. The grounds were lovely, the celebration and food were great, and the children in our group loved the nice pool area. Some of the rooms and other facilities seem a little dated, but overall we would have had a nice impression of this hotel to share except that our stay was marred by extraordinarily poor treatment by hotel staff immediately upon our arrival. The hotel is large but only maintains a few vastly insufficient parking spaces for immediate unloading upon arrival/registration, and there is no hotel staff out front to help or guide arriving guests. Luckily we found a spot in what we thought was the designated unloading zone (the signs are not entirely clear), but after unloading our bags and bringing them inside (which took no more than 15 minutes or so), we were shocked when we returned to the car to find a threatening, harshly worded, very large neon orange parking violation sign plastered to our window that was all but impossible to scrape off. When we returned to the front desk, the clerk told us we had inadvertently parked in the manager’s space (even though there was no marking to that effect). So we asked to talk with the manager. The clerk and the manager then pointed the finger at hotel security, noted they had a lot of problems with improper guest parking lately, and more or less said it was beyond their control. They refused our request to have hotel security or hotel staff remove the sign and its gooey residue from our car. Instead, after much cajoling, they eventually just gave us some glass cleaner to “help” us do it ourselves. The worst part, however, was the attitude that both of these individuals — the front desk clerk and manager — displayed. They were patronizing and dismissive of our concerns and all but suggested we got what we deserved, simply for trying to unpack our own bags in the designated registration zone, just as travelers do in normal hotels every day. This completely unwarranted, brusque treatment seems unacceptable anywhere, but certainly seems unacceptable in the hospitality industry. This “welcome” to the Minerals honestly cast a dark shadow over our whole stay. By the way, we noticed over the course of our stay that many, many other arriving guests parked in the same spot we did for unloading, but none of those other families (fortunately) seemed to have gotten the same awful treatment we did for doing so.

Dear Jon,

I'm so glad you enjoyed all the wedding festivities as well as our pools, grounds and loved our delicious cuisine.

We are very sorry however for any misunderstanding regarding the parking situation outside the front of our building. The spot you parked in was very much clearly marked for the general manager of which you had also spoken to him directly along with several other managers during this unfortunate incident.

One of the managers from our front desk also tried having a bellhop assist you with your belongings to help expedite the check-in process but you had declined this service.

Again, we are very sorry that this obviously put a damper on your stay with us, but are very glad you were able to join us and enjoy your family's wedding nevertheless.

The King suite was a great choice. I loved the balcony which brought peace and relaxation. The property was beautiful. I loved the amenities. Only bad thing I have to say is that during my reservation I was not told the Grotto and cave were not open.

We came for our friends wedding and decided to bring the kids with us to make a long weekend of it! The resort was very family friendly with lots of activities for the kids and adults!! The kids loved swimming in the pools, splashing around in the splash pad, playing in the game room, and seeing the animals at the petting zoo. My husband and I enjoyed the easy access to all amenities, the great customer service and the comfy suite as our home base. We will definitely be coming back!

We stayed at the Minerals Hotel, it was a great experience from the moment we checked in. Kristan and Blake, front desk, were extremely friendly and very helpful. They gave us all the information needed to go on the Appalachian Trail. The resort, our room was clean and ready when we arrived. Lots of resort activities if you'd like to join or simply sit by any of the many pools. Only one restaurant on site (a little pricey) but, the burger was excellent. We are planning another visit in early October. Highly recommend this Hotel.

Please allow me to introduce myself: I am
Petra Schemmann

Pianist, music educator, poet and writer.

My doctor, Dr Hill, found Crystal Springs online, because she knew I needed personal time with Spa in a nature surrounded setting.

Crystal Springs is perfect in every way, more over Mineral Hotel. Many shout outs to follow.

Crystal Springs is all about wellness.
Some people come here for events such as weddings, conferences, conventions or corporate events. A lot of people come for get away, spa, etc.

Some of us have addictions or mental health issues and benefit from Crystal Springs.

Personally I struggle at times with mental health, due to severe past trauma and am once again addicted to cigarettes. However only smoke outdoors and dispose of butts apropriably. Enjoy alcohol but do not get drunk, let alone hang overs.

Mineral Hotel has a
Fantastic team. All the workers are kind, skilled and helpful individuals.

Beautiful setting, beautiful rooms, environmentally friendly. Awesome food and bar with DJ and dance floor, Gym, yoga classes, arcade etc fantastic indoor/ outdoor pool in tropical setting. Pickle ball, nature trails.

Special shout out to Kristen at reception, warm, welcoming, compassionate, relatable.

Special shout out to Mildred/ Millie in house keeping for her kindness, compassion, generosity and for going above and beyond in helping me.

Joe, bar, for skills, kindness. Sorry Joe when for quite a while you thought I dined and dashed, we’re in disbelief and we were both relieved when I made it back just in time. TY Joe for your empathy and understanding.

Also special shout out to Donna at the bar for outstanding skills, kindness and wisdom.Kevin and Eddy also very kind at the bar.

Special shout out to young Nana at the bar for people skills, compassionate, hardworking and extremely kind. Also Nick, at the bar. TY

But it’s not just about bar. Plus I am not youngish and never get drunk.

Young , Anna and Morgan stood out at cafe, preparing delicious espressos!!

Jake with member services is excellent. He is skilled, kind, encouraging and accommodating!

My first time booked first night at Mineral hotel, second night at luxury hotel.
Accidentally drove to luxury hotel first.
Was greeted by Darlene.

Darlene is kind, excellent listener, skilled and compassionate.
Sadly can’t say the same about Nicole.

Upon booking mentioned that once again, due to personal circumstances, am addicted to cigarettes. Never smoke indoors and always dispose of butts properly.
Nicole was very harsh, not understanding of my addiction, let alone compassionate. I found myself on my last straw and rather than going back to Mineral hotel, opted to drive all the way back home.

Let’s continue with the positive:

During my first stay Andrew from reception was almost my night nurse. Spoke with him three times. He is extremely kind, caring and likable individual.

Rachel, Mia and Jacob also stand out at reception. Especially Jacob for skills, compassion and tech knowledge.

TY Tyrell for being the bestest bellman!!

Grazias Dimaris from housekeeping!
Very skilled, sweet and kind.

Special shout out to Candy in house keeping. Candy is hardworking, hands-on, compassionate and kind.

Last but not least if you would like to listen to some of my piano recordings that are streaming, please go to Spotify or Apple Music.

Am currently working on more recordings to be released later this year.

TY in advance for your support!

TY and enjoy Crystal Springs located in beautiful New Jersey, otherwise known as the garden state!
