It's a mixed, but still a good review. I was able to get a room for two nights at last minute notice, but it is was in January -- certainly not their high season. The winter rate was very reasonable. It's a great location -- right across from the boardwalk/beach in Spring Lake, NJ - just lovely. The hotel public facilities are very nice and well maintained -- the banquet rooms, public dining, public restrooms, foyer. Our room was very dated and could have used a nice update. While everything was clean - the bathroom tiles were very old and had patched-up grout in areas. The beds were very comfortable. The shower had wonderful water pressure. The doors/walls are very thin so you hear a lot of exterior hall and neighboring room noise. For example, the room next to us had the police knocking on their door at 4:30 am and we were woken up by it. The front desk comped us breakfast to make up for our interrupted sleep, which was nice; still we were up from 4:30 am! There was an area off the lobby for guests to get some free coffee/tea in the morning -- that's a wonderful treat to offer to guests. The breakfast menu was very nice and our food was yummy. The staff we encountered was very professional and polite.
