Longhorn Steakhouse is part of the Darden Restaurant food chain. Other restaurants include: Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Bahama Breeze, Yardhouse and Season 52. It's a chain so you know a lot of the food is pre-made. I ordered the Steak & Bacon Cedar Melt at $11.49. It consists of American Kobe shaved steak which I found rather tasteless except for the excessive salt applied. The apple smoked bacon was exceptional as was the cedar and bacon mayo. I would have preferred a more crusty roll but instead it was on a soft bun. The French Fries were plentiful, hot and crisp. My dinner partner ordered the Steakhouse Burger ($9.99) and wanted it medium. It came out really medium rare. Their large steak dinner is $29. The beer selection is small. Bud or Miller light, Samuel Adams and craft beer on draft. The service was very professional and paced comfortably. I liked the southwest décor which was low keyed but noticeable enough to set a mood. The low keyed bar area has two large TVs and the peace and quite to enjoy the game. What I particularly liked was the fact that the seating was spread out enough to allow for dinner conversation which seems to be increasingly rare. Easy access off Route 46 and a large parking lot are bonuses. I live close by and often pass by at lunch and dinner time. The parking lot is almost always filled so business is good. They have promotions like free appetizer on the house if you fill out a short form available on the table.
