Construction Zone-No Notice. We made reservations 3 hours prior to arrival and there was no mention on their site they are doing major construction of the lobby, check in area and no breakfast as hyped on their website. Full rate too. Had it said it was under construction I would have booked elsewhere, but when you arrive late at night and they will only sell you a non-refundable reservation I felt robbed by their deception.

I just wanted to clear this up because these are not photos of our property. We are the Holiday Inn Express in Newton New Jersey and we are not under construction and we don't have a room #133. Our renovations were completed back in 2018. We are fully renovated and not under construction. I apologize for your experience at this other property and hope if you are ever in Newton New Jersey you give us a try!
We were in Room 102 next to the lobby and directly across from the breakfast cafe. It was AWFUL. It was unbearably noisy all night with people coming and going and partying and then in the morning it sounded like dozens of people were in our room with us having breakfast conversations. We didn’t sleep a wink. Would not recommend. This space should be storage closets or something other than rooms. I want my money back since I didn’t get any sleep.

Our room was so incredibly clean!
I've been traveling regularly for over 20 years. Never ever have I seen such a clean hotel or room. No dust anywhere! Not under the bed, on the door frames, on the top of the closet, none. Drains were clean, shower curtain was spotless. I am in awe and impressed. Thank you so much!!!
The staff is super friendly and helpful.
I know my next trip to NJ will include an overnight here, for sure.
Check-In and Out was easy:) Employees were nice:) Love the BIG screen TV that pops out from the wall:) TV selection was okay. Nice hot shower water with good pressure:) YET, shower make a LOUD noise when on😳 Many nice small details in room:) Like those big bathroom towels:) Breakfast was well run, organized and simply awesome! Safe hotel:) Overall quite, though you can hear when others walk in rooms above you🙁 Solid stay

I always stay at this property when I am in Sussex, NJ for my annual 50 or 100 mile race. It is great location with 3 supermarkets, lots of places to eat and close to the county fairgrounds, Rooms are large and recently refreshed. Free breakfast. But the best feature is the staff. They are friendly, welcoming, helpful and professional.
