Friendly neighborhood restaurant, bar and grill, daily specials, happy hours, half priced appetizers, and 20 wall mounted wide screen tv's surrounding the square bar.

Best nacho supreme in Monmouth County! Steaks always cooked perfectly. Lots of brews on tap for those who enjoy their suds, many big screens around the updated bar. Been going here nearly 20 years.

Missing a happy hour music event at the Jersey shore caused us to look local for an after 7pm dining and drinks. This location has previously been a great place for us for many, many years. Due to the high number of other restaurants in the area we seemed to have forgotten this place and decided to return as the food and service were always very good. Arriving at this location,we were greeted promptly in the lobby by the hostess who did offer dining room seating but we chose the bar. The dining room seating was half full and the super large bar surrounded by flat screens on every wall bar, (cool for watching your favorite game or other stuff ) was 1/3 busy. The music volume was so loud we had to yell to talk to each other in the bar area. Seated for almost 10 minutes before one of the four bartenders got to us. The delay appeared NOT to be due to the number of customers to serve but random, almost purposeful denial to serve new customers that they would "I guess I will have to wait on". A bit of surprise here as they seemed to try and work as a team with no specific bar assignments, just a lot of disorganized service. Menus were provided and drinks were served. An order of filet mignon sliders ( $11) and a summer clam bake ( $22) were placed. The sliders took approx. 15 minutes to arrive by a seemingly unhappy female food server. No words were exchanged. She just dropped the food and left. I will say the sliders is a very good appetizer. Clam chowder was a side serving from the summer clam bake order and was delivered by our bartender. The color was not the bright white that a cream based chowder should have, but a different color. Our experience indicates this was either not may fresh that day, was in the steam table too long in the kitchen or was microwaved for heating. The taste was overwhelming a chicken base and not a cup of "normal" New England chowder. It was not returned to the kitchen, it was left 3/4 full on the bar. A good server would observe this when taking it away and inquire the reason it was consumed. Not tonight and not here. The last food item ordered was the summer clam bake. Customers at the bar were asking the bar tenders where their food was. The standard bartender answer of "the kitchen is a little backed up right now" worked for some, but is unsupported. At that time the dining room was below half in occupancy and the bar was about the same customer count. An inquiry after almost 30 minutes for our summer clam bake resulted in same comment. It arrived about 5 minutes later. Steamers, clams, mussels, corn, potatoes were all served hot. OH WAIT! The shrimp and scallops that were part of the summer clam bake description never made it to the plate and was missed by the entire kitchen and the server! Enough is Enough.
Management and supervision of the bar and and the kitchen is either absent or asleep during peak restaurant times. The bar staff was working hard but looked more like a reality TV show with no direction or coordination resulting in less that good customer service. For the kitchen to be "backed up" on a Friday night with a light number of customers can happen, but should not. The clam chowder and the summer clam bake should have been checked for freshness, taste, quality, appearance and ensure it matches the menu description PRIOR to leaving the kitchen. The serving staff ( bartender, food runner server) should be the double check PRIOR to serving it to the customer. Owners should pay close attention to this and make changes accordingly. There are too many restaurant choices within 5 miles of this location to find this experience even close to acceptable. We paid the bill and left shaking our heads.
We will not return.

The food is always blows us away. The servers are all very nice and greet you with a smile. If the food didn’t take so long to come out this place would be 5 stars! Will be back!
