Absolute worst experience getting to a hotel ever!

2.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 24 Aug 2024
YOU CANNOT WALK HERE! I repeat: if you do not have a car, there is NO way to access the hotel by walking or public transit. Nowhere on the Hilton or Expedia websites did it say that you can ONLY get to the hotel by car because it is surrounded by highways. Originally, Google Maps informed us it would only be a 7 minute walk from the nearest bus stop to the hotel but that is because it wanted us to hop the fence and climb down a STEEP hill to enter the hotel from the back parking lot. Even if we wanted to walk the long way around the trees separating us from the hotel just 200 feet away, we would have had to cut across multiple lanes of highway at night with our luggages.
With such ridiculous infrastructure around it, the hotel should provide a shuttle service from bus stops. Their existing shuttle service is a joke because it is only available from 12 - 7 PM and FROM the hotel TO the bus stop by the George Washington Bridge but NOT BACK TO THE HOTEL!
The room itself was fine, which is why this is not a 1-star review.

The first time we visited the USA and after Orlando and Washington we stayed in this hotel new jersey near George Washington bridge for 5 nights . .I wanna mention good things first and that is the front desk officers .very cooperative and respectful with their guests .one of the Chinese officer helps me in luggage shifting .that's so nice of him .I don't know his name .thank you.other there lobby is good . .but so many things they should give importance.first the lightning in the room is worst .it's dark for us .few lamps just
No proper lights. secondly no pool no spa no activities for kids no proper area for any sort of activities .only gym .so that's ridiculous.the worst thing is the breakfast.we eat halal food .no customise egg no live cooking .we take cereals only .that tall waiter is so rude and disrespectful I could nt visit that area again .I did complain but they say sorry only.he neither gives or asks me for tea .neither display it or early close might be .but you should respect your guest whether he is Muslim or not .shame to him .he should be kicked off from this hotel and get some manners classes .so never wanna go again and never recommend to live there .

Room tip: Don't go what's so ever .

Had to change our room 4 times. This hotel is extremely run down its 40 years old. 1st room very noisy, 2nd room daughter fell off the bed, 3rd time went to pick my luggage up and the bottom was soaking wet and so were my clothes. My daughter was constantly sneezing from the wet dirty carpet that stunk. 4th room was just old and outdated. The bottom of the bathroom door was severely peeling up. Took pictures. The A/C would kick on and off all nite long with a loud noise. One time 3 am it was hot and called front desk and they sent someone up. The Manager said he would give us our money back but we couldn't contact the agency where we purchased the trip from. I must compliment the 2 gentleman in the breakfast area. They were very sincere and helpful. I stayed here 15 years ago and it was nice and clean. It was a terrible experience. After all this aggravation they gave us the breakfast. First of all I read that it was included with our room. I feel like we should be refunded all our money.

We’ve stayed here a few times. Hotel is nice. Room are nice. Few touch ups need to be done like paint in the bathroom. Didn’t like that a few times our room smelled like cigarette. We ate in the lounge. Very good food. Dean our bartender was out standing sweetest man ever. We are definitely missing him. It was so kind so pleasant and friendly he was like family

The room we were initially given had no AC, the mechanic came and confirmed. Went to front desk, staff were super unhelpful and unfriendly, managed to get a different room. New room had no AC once again, confirmed by mechanic. Had to fight with staff for a new room. Did end up getting a new room. The tub leaked. Only the front lobby is nice, the rest of the hotel looks super outdated and run down. It offers a pool, but it’s been closed since COVID and no one has bothered to update the website. The hotel is about a 12 minute walk to a bus stop, but you have to walk beside the highway, avoiding tons of broken glass, then run across a highway, go down a hill also covered in broken glass, then continue to the bus stop. The hotel also tacks on an extra charge per night for just existing in the building. The breakfast is garbage and is supe expensive. Don’t go here, find a different hotel. It’s not worth it.

Room tip: Don’t stay there.

We stayed at this four star hotel last night and went to American Dream whole day today. After dinner we came back exhausted for rest and we realized one of the beds was not cleaned at all, even though the tip put on the table was taken, I’m not sure this is on purpose or was some kind of silly mistake. Just can’t believe such issue in a four star hotel. Maybe the place should be three star but over rated.

Room tip: If you look for a better quality stay, this may not be a good choice
