This was the most average Doubletree I have stayed at in the past year. There was nothing blatantly wrong with it, but I don't think I would stay here again for the following reasons:
1. My room, although not dirty, didn't seem "sparkling clean" either. I hate when I can smell people's heads through the pillowcase on the pillows, so gross. I used the bath towels to cover my pillows.
2. The AC/heat system is very dated. Either the fan blows hard or not much. As previous reviewers stated, my room was hot but it did eventually cool down. No chance on opening a window due to the high volume of traffic.
3. Location. the hotel is not far from Manhattan but the mental effort you must exert to drive there is a lot. The hotel sits between multiple highways and it was a pain to drive to and from this hotel because of the high volume of traffic and multiple ramps, turns, etc. you have to take to get to the bridge. There is nothing within walking distance of this hotel either. My run to Starbucks on the way to a work event was very stressful due to the traffic and twists and turns required.
4. Bar/restaurant: the food was good but the beer selection at the bar is extremely limited. Stella was sour and they were out of other beers. Not many too choose from either.
Postive:
1. They offer a shuttle into the city which would be a plus for any not wanting to pay higher hotel prices.
2. Cookies are warm and delicious as always.
Overall, it's okay to stay if you must stay here but I think I would look for a more convenient place.
