I love this hotel but wish we would have know outside our window the construction noise at 7am would wake us up and shorten our sleep time. Probably would have picked another hotel for Monday if we knew.

Good alternative to expensive Manhattan hotels

Good hotel in a descent location close to Manhattan
Pros
- Walk to the mall for choices, ice cream, some shopping etc
- NJ Transit was 5mins walk that will take you to 41st St in 30mins, same coming back, 2mins walk
- Good location and trail behind the hotel for a nice view of NYC
- Descent breakfast
- Good room view if you can get one overlooking the hudson
- Enough parking and safe area of the town
- Good value for money close to NYC with kitchenette
Cons
- Not within NYC, so you have to plan for bus ride timing and tickets were very complex with NJT (Zone system)
- Hotel build is a bit old as you can see from the picture and lots of construction going around blocking some of the trails

I stayed with family Monday - Wednesday on a trip to NYC. I must say this is the perfect place to stay on your vacation. A 20 minute, safe and clean, bus ride to 40th street bus terminal minutes from Times Square . Download the NJT APP and you’re good to go.
If you want a more scenic view for a little more money take the ferry. The return trip offers a spectacular view of the Manhattan skyline.
The facility is clean and staff is friendly. Free breakfast and the food is delicious. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Going to the big Apple? This is the place to stay.
Room tip: Returning to ferry take 42nd street. 40th may have homeless residents that may be scary to young children, though they didn’t bother us.

I was surprised by how great my stay was at this hotel. Free parking, free breakfast, clean spacious rooms with a full kitchen - amazing.
Also the staff were very very friendly and always smiled and made us feel like they actually enjoyed what they’re doing.
I will absolutely be back.
Room tip: Signup for the rewards program ahead of checking in and they’ll give you some fee bottled water.

Not sure what happened but we were given a room that had an extremely loud fan in the bathroom and the kitchen sink leaked. We arrived exhausted from our trip to New York and only stayed 1 night so we didn't bother to complain. I am almost 100% certain the hotel knew of this issue.
Other than that the hotel seem to be very nice and clean and breakfast was good. Also the view was simply amazing. We stared out the window for over 30mins despite being so tired. LOVED the view.
Room tip: Ask for a room with city view. Worth every penny.

Conveniently located whether staying in New Jersey or exploring Manhattan. Great place to stay, spacious rooms, priced fairly and friendly hardworking staff
