This was our second stay at this facility. We'd stayed here in the fall, and were very impressed. We were assigned the same 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom suite we'd stayed in the previous visit, #624. First thing we noticed upon checking in was that the suite was COLD. We had no HOT water that night. The room's heating system was inoperable, and the rooms were freezing cold. An engineer came up and replaced the thermostat, but it still didn't do much to heat the room. We had to use the fireplace all night, jumping up in 30-minute intervals to keep it going.
Next morning, one of our party went to the gym, returned, tried to shower, and had no water at all. She had to do a hand wash in the sink in icy cold water.
Then she found the water had come back in the shower, but only the cold water. She took an ICY shower. Another one of our party also ran out of hot water and all water. At about the same time.
In addition, the hotel began testing the fire alarms in the morning, scared us half to death, as we'd been given no notice, no courtesy of a heads up that this would be happening. They tested them THREE TIMES!
Engineers were called back in to try and resolve the issue of no heat and no hot water (and intermittently NO water at all). They seemed stupefied by the problem. The front desk did offer to allow us to change suites, but by that time two of our party were out on their business appointment, and that would have left the remaining female to tote everything to the new room herself. By the time the business appointment was done, everyone was far too exhausted to make the swap, so another night was spent in a cold room, with no hot water for showers. The ice maker in the freezer wasn't working, either, and the dishwasher was leaking all over the floor in the kitchen.
Eventually, the hotel comped us for both nights, but the experience left us shaken and scarred and unlikely to stay here again.

I booked this hotel to accommodate a field band traveling for a competition at Met Life Stadium. Alicia the manager I worked with was amazing helping us set up this trip. Helped with food and went above and beyond to accommodate our group. Highly recommend this hotel.

Room tip: Kitchen has dishwasher and full fridge.

This is not our first stay, we have stayed at this hotel a number of times. We personally love the Marriott Residence Inn’s and are members. The service is great, it’s clean. Check is always quick. Just. Few minutes away from NYC Timesquare. This is great location, restaurants just a few feet away.

This was another stellar Residence Inn. Shows what an extended-stay hotel CAN be capable of, cleanliness-wise and otherwise, even when one is only staying for one night. The room was immaculate, and the atmosphere quiet. Smooth check-in, no issues whatsoever.

A really great hotel. Super close to restaurants, The American Dream park and a short drive to Liberty State Park which I highly recommend taking a trip to! Clean, Staff was wonderful - Especially Ariel. Comfy bed, nice breakfast, Easily accessible. I would totally recommend this hotel for a family stay. Perfect place to stay on the outskirts of NYC !

Poorly run, disorganized hotel. Hotel doesn't care out guests. First, I have Gold status with Marriott and I get this kind of treatment so how do you think a regular guest will be treated! Of course, when checking in NO acknowledgment of my Gold status. Before arriving at the hotel I contacted and chatted with the hotel via the Marriott app. After I requested a quiet top floor suite the hotel informed me that the top floor of the hotel was being renovated. But the person chatting with me said they would make sure to keep me 2 floors away from the noise. When I told the person via chat that I didn't want to be on the first floor they replied that was no problem.

When we checked in we got a suite on the 5th floor, right below the construction! I mentioned this to the desk clerk but they didn't care, of course, the same desk clerk that did NOT recognize my Gold status. After getting to the room I chatted once again with the hotel to document the incident. Person refused to give me the email for the hotel's general manager. The person then called the room and said they would leave a note for the assistant manager to look into getting us a different room the next day. No one every contacted me.

The next morning we started to hear the construction noise above us. In addition, 1 of the 2 elevators was locked on the 6th floor so we had to compete with not only all the quests but also the housekeeping staff and their carts going to and from breakfast. Speaking of the poor breakfast, far below Residence Inn standards. We have had better breakfasts at 2 star properties including Holiday Inn Express and Comfort Inn's. Meager breakfast offerings with poor selections. Better be fast at breakfast because before the 9am cutoff the staff is taking what is left of the meager breakfast away, on our first morning everything was gone by 8:58 and no warning like at many well run places that breakfast was ending.

Unlike Marriott's own Fairfield Inn or Hilton's Homewood Suites and Hampton Inn., I am unaware of any 100% satisfaction guarantee at Residence Inn. Now I know why due to hotels like this.

Room tip: Try other hotels in same general area of the Meadowlands.
