Excellent Long term stay

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 4 Feb 2021
This has been a really positive visit. The Hotel staff is beyond professional and helpful. They have been outstanding my entire 4 week stay. I don't usually mention names but John actually went above and beyond while I was at this hotel. He actually came outside and helped me dig out after a significant snow storm. I was very impressed with him and the other staff including Housekeeping and Maintenance.
The entire staff was so friendly and attentive to the guests' needs.
I would Highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in this area.

Room Tip: All areas of the Hotel seem to be very quiet.

I traveled in with my family we booked 2 rooms we understood things would be diffrent due to Covid but we in for a big surprise. The rooms were in very ruff condition cleanliness wise we found poop stains on the shower curtain, toilet that wouldn't flush and ran all night, goldfish snacks under the bed and futon the second room we opened the futon there was food particles and a huge stain on the mattress food under the futon, hair on the pillows and we only recieved half a roll of toilet paper. We understood housekeepers not going into the rooms completely understandable however how are we supposed to trust that the proper procedure are being followed to sanitize the rooms during this covid of the rooms lack simple cleaning. We had 2 children that were restricted to touch anything and had stay over relatives house for the night. I expressed this to the front office agent whom simply apologised for the inconvenience and stated would talk to a housekeeping manager. I recieved no call back no email nothing. I even sent an email to corporate stating I wanted to show them pictures and still nothing. Very disappointing as this has been go to hotel and have become familiar with the staff. Simple if you cant live up to regular Hotel standards you should not be open.

Dear 0328Nana,

We sincerely regret your experience. This is definitely not up to our standards. I have taken note and wish to thank you for all your valuable comments regarding the cleanliness of the room. Marriott recently announced the creation of the Marriott Global Cleanliness Council – consisting of in-house and outside experts in food and water safety, hygiene and infection prevention, and hotel operations. While Marriott’s council develops its work, the company has initiated plans to roll out enhanced technologies at its properties over the next few months, including electrostatic sprayers that allow for touchless disinfecting capabilities. The magnetically charged droplets produced by the electrostatic sprayers seek out and coat hard to reach areas and surfaces typically missed in standard cleaning processes. In its everyday cleaning, Marriott will also be using the highest classification of disinfectants recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and World Health Organization to treat known pathogens. We hope this has restored your faith in us and that we have the opportunity to serve you better on a return visit.

Sincerely,
Nimmi Kaur

This mini vacation was like a home away from home. The rooms were clean and some staff were helpful and friendly. There is a pool, gym, jacuzzi and parking. It was quiet and not too far from restaurants and shops.

My family and I stayed together in a 2 bedroom suite for a night to celebrate my niece’s birthday so we could swim and play together. Our time together was great, but there were some pros and quite a few cons to this hotel.

Pros:
The suite was on the 6th floor near the elevator; but it was very quiet. It had a very nice appearance all around from the kitchen, to the bedrooms. The beds were comfortable. Having a full refrigerator was useful. The rubber duckies by the tub was a nice touch for the kids.

Cons:
The pool was ICE COLD. We figured the point of indoor swimming was to NOT be cold. It was so cold, that the adults couldn’t even go in. The hot tub is in serious need of a scrubbing but we went in even tho there was about 10 kids unsupervised in it before us. The tile around the pool is DANGEROUS. It is so slippery when wet. On the way out of the pool area, I tried to fill my water bottle at the water fountain and the water was so cloudy, it was WHITE. I showed it to the front desk associate and she was so embarrassed, she gave us water bottles for free. On the way up in the elevator, it was making so much noise banging and clanging that I thought we were going to get stuck. When I went to take a shower, I tried to turn the shower head towards me and it wouldn’t face the middle. But it wasn’t fully secured to the wall either so I was moving the whole pipe trying. The “full American breakfast” was O-K”. I’m not entirely sure they were real eggs. The chicken sausage was weird. The French toast sticks were soggy. One of the two waffle irons kept having the waffles stick no matter how much spray you put on it (we had a good view of the waffle mishaps).

I enjoyed the coffee and my sleep tho. Bright side?

We stayed one night with our son and daughter and their three small kids to celebrate our granddaughter’s birthday. We wanted a 2 bedroom suite where we would all have room to spend time together. We also wanted a place with a nice pool. The suite was ok. Somewhat spacious, However the couch needs to be replaced as it is horribly uncomfortable and sags in the middle. The rooms were clean and it was nice to have a full kitchen, especially having 3 small kids with us. I was disappointed as I had requested more towels, pillows and shampoo through the Marriott app the day before but none of the items were ever delivered. I had also requested a pack n play for our young grandson when I booked 5e room but that was not in the room either. It was a good thing our son had packed one,of their own.

The pool water was very cold and while the kids somewhat enjoyed it, it was way too cold for the adults to goin and for the baby. The hot tub temp was comfortable but it certainly could use a good cleaning.

Be aware that with the opening of the American Dream Mall in the meadowlands, there are a lot of kids in this hotel now. And so many of them were not the best behaved, jumping in the hot tub, diving in the pool, going into the fitness room and playing on the machines when they were soaking wet. The management did seem to be trying to address some of these problems, but the pool is small and the volume level with 25 screaming kids was unbearable.

Breakfast buffet was good and all items were readily available and were constantly refilled.

Would we stay here again? Most likely not.

Residence Inn East Rutherford Meadowlands is in close proximity to MET Life Stadium and the new American Dream Mall/Nickelodeon Universe. We booked here because we were planning on going to the new indoor amusement park (N.U.). Free parking is nice.

Typically spacious suites that you would expect from Residence Inn. Good breakfast options, indoor swimming pool, fitness center, etc. The sofa bed is the only negative part of our stay. And unfortunately, with a family of four, we had to use it. It was uncomfortable and in need of an upgrade.
