This visitor center is known as the Mt. Washington Observatory Discovery Center. It is a building on 2 levels, which affords spectacular views of Mt. Washington and the other peaks of the Presidential Range. It is a tourist information center with loads of brochures for attractions, accommodations, restaurants, etc. in the area. The state tourism person on hand was excellent in pointing out what to see and where to go. Its key location is easy to find along the main highway state route 16. Recommend stopping there !

We enjoy going to the Mt. Washington Observatory Weather Discovery Center on a rainy day but it certainly can be a good place to go even without the rain. There's hands on things to do for the young ones in your group and interesting facts to read about for the older ones in the group. I'd recommend it for all ages as a fun learning experience about some of the most intense weather on the earth.

Mount Washington Observatory Weather Museum offers those less inclined to brave the drive up the auto road the benefits of the summit museum without the dare-devil trip up the mountain.

If you are even remotely close to this location, put this adventure on your bucket list. We were there on a Monday and they had 2 fers for both XC skiing, and the snow cat up to Mount Washington, so we saved a lot of money.

Take the stage up.(Vans that drive you up and down) Driving up and down is not he best for your car. Found the train expensive and slow but interesting.
