“Great beer and light fare”

Iron Furnace Brewing
Ranked #2 of 13 Restaurants in Franconia
Description: We are about more than beer and business, we are lifetime friends. Iron Furnace Brewing was founded by four north country guys that grew up less than a half mile from each other. We stayed close through college, were roommates afterwards and have remained tight-knit since. The brewery has been a dream since the early days but took some time to materialize. 2017 was the year it all came together! We were fortunate to find and fall in love with the Whitney building on Main Street and now call it home! We are eternally grateful to the community and our friends and family for the support. We are community focused and loyal to our roots, but still not afraid of change and experimentation. Our taproom is a great place to gather, for families and friends both old and new. Inviting, lively, comfortable and engaging is the environment that we want to produce. Our beers tend to be hop forward but we still have plenty of variety. Cheers, Tim, Josh, Jason and Jeremy

Had dinner and a couple beers here a few nights ago with my wife and wasn't disappointed. Casual seating outside in the front lawn or in the back in the barn were both nice, although probably seasonal. The beer was local craft beer and was very good. Menu was somewhat limited, but I had a chicken and bacon pizza and my wife had nachos, and both were very good. Service was excellent and friendly. Hope to go back and try more different beers.

Sat outside and enjoyed the great weather. Had a flight of beers before our dinner. Menu looked good. We will be back.

During COVID, the outdoor seating was packed. The beers we had were pretty good, but the appetizers (nachoes, etc.) were nothing special (and frankly sub-par compared to many breweries. They were very busy and thus service was okay, but not exceptional.

Went into the restaurant and was greeted by a guy that practically asked what is what that we wanted or in other words what the hell we wanted? Of course we were the only ones of color in the restaurant, so I immediately thought we were receiving poor service because we were of color. Any-who, we ordered some food and was told they were going to bring the food to the car within 15-20mins. That did not happen, after waiting roughly 25-30 mins I went inside and asked for the order. For some reason, no one knew about my order or if it was paid for. We ended up having to wait another 10-15 mins for the food which wasn’t as bad because the food was expedited thanks to 1 of the girls that worked there (which was not Wendy) and we ended up leaving with a free beer at the end and fresh food after having to wait an hour.

We tried the lager the peach beer and the coffee flavored stout all were great. Awesomely cool place sit inside sit under the barn roof or sit in the garden. Pretzels and buffalo chicken appetizers were super too after a day hike at the flume. People who work there were super friendly. Owners should be proud of their staff and buy them all a round!
